Vehicle Detail
Black Beauty is For Sale. Iconic black 1992 Saab 900 base hatchback. Serial number YS3AY35E4N2006729. 91,000 miles (146,000 kilometers). Lightly used and well loved. Second owner. Purchased in March 1998 at approximately 28,000 miles (45,000 km) from female film industry executive – she walked to work and used car for weekends at her three-season cottage. Stored the last 12 winters (6 months of the year). Driven weekends and always garaged. Moderate driver (sold a 900 turbo to buy this one). Mainly highway miles: preferred ride to the cottage (550 mile round trip) and the in-laws (750 mile round trip). Beautiful body. Very few parking lot dings (this car never went to the mall). Fresh, clean interior. Only minor cracks in dash. Upholstery and carpets very nice. Headliner beginning to bubble. Excellent mechanics. Feels new. Handles like a champ. Traditional Saab: turns over a few times before it starts, hydraulic lifters a little noisy at first. No rust, no rattles, no whistles, no squeaks. More to the point, no major leaks – recently replaced crankshaft pulley seal; replaced head gasket 2007 (now has MB coolant). No ac or cc. Turbo mags, spoilers, exhaust, K&N filter, B&G lowering springs (I like the ride, your mother-in-law will prefer the Oldsmobile). Interior light comes on when you open the door; windows, power antenna work like new; power door locks work intermittently; climate controls not illuminated. Hood and hatch resprayed 2009 (nice), also driver’s side rear pillar where somebody tried to jimmy the window (nice paint but prep not quite up to my weenie perfectionist standards), otherwise original. Truth in advertising: I touched up superficial rust spots on driver’s door below upholstery panel when I bought car; (original) water pump is quiet but weepy. Michelin MXV4 tires have average tread depth of 7/32”. Includes Thule racks. When the Museum of Modern Art gives Saab its proper due, this is the car they’ll show. Looking for someone to keep her on her pedestal. $500 PayPal Deposit (50% refundable) within 48 hours. Balance of Payment and Transfer of Registration within 10 days. Buyer responsible for pick up.
