Vehicle Detail
i bought this toyota from a coworker a couple of months ago. he sold it because it over heated on him and when he took it to his mechanic he was told it possibly had a blown head gasket. i went to his house to buy the truck and added some coolant to the radiator. i checked the oil and ther was no coolant in it. i checked the coolant and ther was no oil in it. i drove the truck home and changed the oil and drove through the summer. around these parts it got pretty hot this summer, close to 100 degrees on some days. i spared this truck no mercy. i purposley wanted to create the over heating problem or at least see some evidence of a head gasket problem. everywhere i went i ran the ac on high. i wasnt easy on the gas pedal . i ran in city traffic and 65 mph on the highway. the temp guage would go to the 25 percent mark with in proper operating range and hold every time. ther is no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. i have not had to add any coolant to the system since i added the day i picked it up. if this truck has a head gasket problem i sure dont see it. the radiator will weep a small amount of coolant (a few drops) when the truck is warmed up,not enough to even have to add coolant. it appears to have been braized by the leak ( just to the left of the rad cap as seen in video),looks to be an easy fix. it has done this since the first day i owned it and it has not effected drivability. i removed the seats and carpet and pressure washed them. it all cleaned up nicely. i only put the front seats and front carpet back in. i had to repair the center console with some plastic and screws it is holding together nicely. the ac blows ice cold and was comfortable on the hottest summer days. all of the lights work and the stock radio works. the back window is power and it works fine. the trans shift as it should and it has overdrive and an optional power setting which changes the shift points in case you would want to tow something. after about a month the alternator went out and i put a new one in. the body has some rust spots . i have seen toyotas in the midwest with alot worse. it is repairable or just run it. ther are some small dents and scratches and the drivers side door very slightly catches the front fender (as seen in video).d the back half of the top is removable and i do have a soft top that will go with the truck. the rims are in nice shape and the tires look to be new, alot of tread left. the truck go down the road very well with no pulling left or right and no wheel shake. the brakes have alot of pad left and it stops good. over all i would say the truck has been maintained well over its years of use. it is completely stock as far as i can tell. my reserve is 1000 dollars. well below book value. good luck winning this nice toyota. click to watch videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q77E6s-ZLgg&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYF-1Dz0PiI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXoaLXem-94 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgP1KNbtN-g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hela-VG2xi8On Sep-13-10 at 15:31:18 PDT, seller added the following information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZuWWTyeMBQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogGj7Yntw6A
