Vehicle Detail
Hello, I'm selling my Father-In-Law's Ford F-150 Custom. It was purchased new after he retired and the truck was used for long camping trips across country and for an occasional run around town. It was sitting for almost a year. I took it to Cape Cod and back from New Jersey last week with no problems. I just took it to the local Valvoline Express and had the belt replaced, as well as, all the fluids inluding the trans, rear, engine, etc-except the coolant-that should probably be done. It has 2 gas tanks. The interior is great. The a/c is cold-I had it on all the way to Cape Cod and back. Also, my Father-In-Law made a bed and shelving for the bed that includes a large slide out drawer and several side cabinets and a canvas tent attatchment that fits over the bed and cap for camping-I removed all of it, but it bolts back in very easily. The body has no dents and I can see a very small bit of rust at the cap junction with the cab. It does have some scratches from rubbing some bushes or something on the back right side-it needs a good cleaning and a little compound to make it shine. I also have the Econoline/F-series/bronco manuals- 1of 2 and 2 of 2- Body, chasis, electric, and engine. HOWEVER- It needs a few things to make it complete: 1. It needs a starter-I think. Sometimes it starts right up and sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to connect and then it turns right over. 2. It needs at least 2 tires for the back. I just blew a tire from dry rot on the side walls. It's spare is on there now and the other tire has the same dry rot in the same place. Fronts are okay, but should be replaced soon. 3. The last sparkplug (back of the engine) is not coming out easily and I dont want to break it. I can turn it about 1 and a half turns and then it stops. I turned it back down tight and there it stays. 4. There is a small bit of oil on the back of the trans, but i'm not sure if its from the trans or from the engine somewhere, but it isnt a major leak problem. 5. It failed inspection for emissions at low idle only-it was 469 HC ppm when it should be 220-however, I've doing the Lucas gas treatment in both tanks and I have noticed a big difference in how it runs- I dont think it ever had injectors cleaned or any real tune-up work done to it. 6. The front of the cap has the window removed and there is a large rubber piece that connects the cab with the cap-it needs to be re-caulked I've tried to be as honest as i can with the description and what I know about the truck. Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions or come by and i'll be glad to show you the truck. THANKS!!
