Vehicle Detail
This car was stripped of it's drivetrain at some point in the past and turned into an iceboat. The very rear of the frame was cut off and the large fan was installed for propulsion. It was used to race around on the small lakes in Northern Michigan. despite the fact that the driveline is missing the car is otherwise very solid and in nice shape. It was originally a Birch Green tropical model that was repainted red at one point. Comes with a clear Michigan title ready to transfer to your state. The body has two small cuts missing in the rear near the license plate bracket where the fan motor was attached. There are also two holes ~1.5" in diameter in the rear panel. It includes another Isetta rear panel piece to patch these cutout areas. The rear quarter panel area has been pushed in slightly as seen in the pictures. Otherwise it is one of the cleanest Isetta bodies I have seen in a long time. No rust through or holes anywhere. Even the battery box is still 100% solid. Floor, firewall, and parcel shelf in very good shape. The often rotten under seat heater box assembly is still in nice shape. Good condition engine door. No rust at the bottom of the front door. All of the glass is still intact and in nice shape, although the windshield is missing. The trim, brackets, switches, and so forth are all present and usable. The dash has been cut for what appeared to be a different speedometer at one point. It even has an original chrome Isetta ashtray. Has an original set of BMW stamped hardboard sun visors and rear view mirror in surprisingly good condition. The seat will need new upholstery but the frame and springs are in good shape. Has the original interior luggage rack in nice shape. Has the optional pedal cover in the front. The front suspension, pedal assemblies, etc. are all still intact and in nice shape. There is no engine, transmission, rear chaincase, or rear wheels and tires. No gas tank and no VDO speedometer. It's too bad that stuff has gone missing - this is the nicest condition car I have run across in a long long time. Other than those big items missing, it is in very original and untouched condition- doesn't look like it has been taken apart much or the little bits lost. Comes with a clear Michigan title for the buyer. I have a forklift and can help load, move, or arrange shipping as needed. I can store as needed if paid in full. We have plenty of room for trailer and semi truck pickup. I will gladly accept cash or cashiers check- I will also accept paypal or credit card, although the buyer will be responsible for adding an additional 4% to the total bid price to cover the fees. Let me know if you have other questions - Email through Ebay (I check it a couple of times+ daily) or call Reid @ 734-945-9322 (cell...leave a message if I miss the call)
