Vehicle Detail
This 1950 Fiat Topolino is a very solid body with excellent working suicide doors, all glass, and even fairly solid floors. It would be possible to restore it or to use as the basis for an altered, gasser, or rat rod. It is light and small enough to be an excellent candidate for conversion to electric power. A modern 600cc - 1000cc motorcycle engine would power this nicely. As a matter of fact, if you buy the car be sure to ask me about the complete Suzuki GSXR motor that I may also sell. The car was originally powered by a 500cc four cylinder with about 25 horsepower. The car is the folding fabric top model but does not have the top fabric and has only partial framework for the folding top. The car does not have the engine or transmission. It does have the gas tank, drive shaft, bumpers, instruments, and original Fiat hubcaps. The exterior has been recently rough-sanded and primered in preparation for more extensive beautification yet to be done by its future owner. The seats are there, but would only serve as patterns for replacement seats. The tires are toast but the wheels seem to be ok. The VIN is 233636, and I have a clear Illinois title. If you haven't figured it out by looking at the pictures, this is a non-running incomplete car that is being sold for parts or complete restoration. Buyer to pick up in Springfield, Illinois or make all arrangements for transport. Be sure to plan to transport using a solid floor trailer or enclosed trailer; the rails of most car haulers will not be narrow enough to accomodate the narrow track of this vehicle. On Sep-10-10 at 21:01:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: A potential buyer stopped by this evening to inspect the car, and they pointed out some additional areas of rust penetration. I have added the last picture available to show the rust holes in the corner in front of the rear fender immediately above the running board. They also pointed out rust perforation in the undersides of both quarter panels on the underside of the car beneath the rear of the doors.
