Vehicle Detail
1984 CJ7 258 cu. in. straight six T-5 Manual 5 speed tranny Dana 300 Transfer case with twin stick shifters Dana 30 Front with 4:10 gears Dana 20 Rear with 4:10 gears, one piece axles, and Detroit Trutrac limited slip 33 x 12.5 all terrains with ~ 40% tread left Hard top and doors 2.5" suspension lift, 1" body lift Full roll cage Bought this jeep in 2004 and it has been mostly a toy / garage queen since. I added the gears, axles, body lift, roll cage, window seals, Herculiner bedliner to interior and lots of other miscallaneous parts to get it where it is today. Just in the last two years I have added a new heater core, radiator, battery, steering shaft, power steering pump, and head gasket. Jeep runs and drives very well, but there is a some play in the steering so the wife hates to drive it. The mechanic that did the head gasket in March said the carb needed rebuilt because it had a chunk of something in it, but you won't notice it unless it is just idling. Four wheel drive works great. Overall condition is very good for this year of jeeps, especially here in the rust belt. Virtually rust free body and a very solid frame, only a little surface rust. It had Texas inspection stickers on windshield from 2001, so I think it spent most of its live in a much drier environment. Never wanted to sell this thing, but life and finances are dictating otherwise. I can be reached for questions by email at sengel_1@fuse.net though I probably won't be able to answer them till around 8:00 each night EST. If you want to talk personally, send me an email with your phone number and I would be glad to call and answer any question you have. If you want any additional pictures of anything particular, please let me know as soon as you can. There is a piece of 1/2" x 4" steel welded in between the frame rails behind the bumper and wiring run the length of the vehicle through the frame for lights. I think it spent time behind an RV at some point because the towing setup looks well done, though I can't guarantee the wiring still works, it could easily be towed to it's new home. Some questions I have gotten included the back seat that wasn't shown in the original pics, but is there and matches the front. Other pics show the floorboards and frame condition. The Herculiner was added to save the metal and reduce noise not cover anything up. I was also asked about my definition of "virtually rust free" (because some peoples are different) and it is just that, this jeep is very solid and I am not trying to hide anything. If anyone has any more questions, please ask them by tonight as I am working tomorrow when the auction will close. Thanks for looking.
