Vehicle Detail

I rescued this beautiful little Geo from the crusher two years ago. It was at a salvage yard getting ready to be parted out when I found it. It had a bad motor but otherwise it is in super good condition. I had another 3 cylinder that I had rebuilt for another Metro. When I rebuilt it I put in new pistons, rod bearings, rings, water pump and timing belt. Because the 3 cylinders are prone to burning exhaust valves I put 3 Tech stainless steel exhaust valves in the head when I ground the valves and seats. I used this engine in another Metro for about 55,000 miles. It runs great and gets super gas mileage. I junked the Metro I was driving so I put the engine in the car you see here for sale. I don't know much about the car except that is was sold new in New Mexico. It also has a parking permit from a university in South Carolina. I was told by the salvage yard that a student was driving it to Indiana from down south when the engine quit. The tires are almost new and the brakes are good. The exhaust system looks to be in very good condition as is the interior. There were a couple of melted Crayons in the back seat but I got almost all that cleaned out. The only body damage I see is to the hood. It appears the hood didn't get latched and maybe flew up. The area by the hinges is wrinkled up a little and there is a slight crease across the front of the hood. You can see in the pictures there is absolutely no rust on the rockers or the strut towers. These were always the first things to rust. Both windows roll up and down good, amazing for a Geo. I have only driven the car about 20 miles since I installed the engine. This lead me to a bad rear wheel bearing. I replaced the right rear wheel bearings. Other than that I can only say this might be one of the nicest Metros I have ever seen. I have had others that ran to almost 300,000 miles so the 146,000 is what I consider low miles. I have fixed everything I found bad. It does have a few dents and dings and might require a little TLC. The stereo is an after market unit and it works and sound pretty good. It does have air but I don't think it works. It might just need a charge of freon. This is the only thing I didn't try to fix. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking! On Sep-02-10 at 17:29:34 PDT, seller added the following information:I have added a couple of pictures of the lower A-arm mounts. I hope it shows the condition well enough.
