You are looking at a one-owner 1968 Mercury Montego convertible. I bought this car in 1968, had it repainted in 1990, new top in 1991 and had the engine rebuilt in 1990. This car runs great. I would not be afraid to drive it across country. In the winter it stays in my heated shop and starts up every time. The power top works just fine as well as the power steering and the brakes. The transmission shifts very smooth and there are no leaks. 80% tread left on tires with original hubcaps. The chrome is in good shape for its age as nothing has ever been rechromed. The car is candy apple red which was the original color as well as the black interior. There is some rust under the car but nothing that warrants complete restoration. The lower front fenders have rust issues also. There is no rust in the trunk or the engine compartment. The doors shut just fine. As I stated before, the engine was rebuilt in 1990 and does not smoke or hesitate as most cars would for this age. The interior is spotless, seats are not torn, the original carpet is still in good shape and the dash has no cracks. I feel sad to let her go but my 2 sons do not have the time or patience to care for this car as I have. My reserve is low. Any questions, you may call me at 419-234-7302. Bid to win!!!
