Vehicle Detail
opel gt, 1972. This desert g.t.is the perfect car to start a project with as it is a roller with no rust. The front vents were filled by a previous owner to further resemble the corvette it was styled after, since G.M. has owned Opel since 1929. These cars, manufactured in Germany, are highly soughtafter all over europe and other parts of the world. Their styling is timeless, construction well engineered, but sadly, they are prone to rust. Most ads for these cars don't mention rust in their description. On this car the floor pan, underhood, etc. are still shiney. The body after 38 years, ofcourse has a minor ding here and there that the previous owner chose to highlight by spraying a large pattern of primer on each spot. this seems to exagerate the obvious. The old saying that states " You can't build a castle on an outhouse foundation" is certainly true! The engine, trans and interior are out of car, but available. Also available is the engine that I recently bought to install in this car. It is a 1995 Land Cruiser discovery 3.9 aluminum v/8 w/all accessories incl. a/c and serpenteen belt. My plan was to use a 4barrell manifold and carb. This is the last year using a distributor. This is the long produced 62-65 (approx) buick engine that most car guys are aware of. I considered myself lucky to find one at all. This one is out of a lite rollover and is in very good condition. The title to the G.T. is clear and is signed and notarized w/buyer left blank. The car is located in Chino Valley, Az. I will trailer the car within a few hundred miles for $2.00/mile one way if needed. If you are interested in the v/8, which would make a really cool street car, I happily paid $800. for it, so thats what i'll take for it to the purchaser of the G.T. Thanks guys. you'll like this car! P.S. Please feel free to call me w/questions anytime at 602 826 2765. My E*Mail is robertwellsexpress@gmail.com By the way Opel G.T. Source, Canoga Park,Calif. has just about any nos or repop part you'd ever need. They are very helpful.
