Vehicle Detail
Between a daughter burning up one car and the house A/C going out I have bills to pay and the beloved old Buick must go to cover expenses. It was a garage find, bought from original owners estate in 2002. Countless hours were spent skim coating old door dings and cleaning the old girl up for a repaint. Repaint was done by award winning C&L Auto in Arcadia in 2005. It has since gotten a couple of new scratches on the left corners, too small to photo well. Bumpers were rechromed at that time as well. Paint alone cost me 5K at the time. The car has placed or won in local shows prior to our being too busy to show it anymore. Rebuilt Turbo 400 has less than 3K miles on it. BF Goodrich radial TA's have less than 2K miles on them. Pointless magnetic ignition was installed day one for easy starts and sure fire running up through the gears. The car is loud, 3" pipes off the headers through dual flowmasters. (the inner juvenile delinquent loves that in a car). New seat covers were installed over the original interior in a tan velour (ok...its mouse fur but looks nice and correct for the period). The car has a lot of luxury for the era, Power windows, power seat, tilt, with an aftermarket AM/FM A/C complete (needs conversion to the new 134a stuff). The car came equipped with factory Rally Wheels and I will include 4 matching nos caps that I reserved for shows (people steal those caps which is why I have a set of near perfect matching ready). The original owner according to the son had new heads installed around 90K as part of an overhaul. I can't document but can tell you that the big block 455 with 4 barrel still pulls strong and cruises effortlessly on the freeway. ODO shows just 120K total miles. Now for the known issues. The fuel tank needs to be drained and flushed as the car has been idle (started only and warmed up) for the last year before driven any distance. The CARB was showing signs of being ready for a rebuild. The vinyl top that was redone in the 90's is delaminating from the roof and from what I can tell in one spot there may be the dreaded rust starting underneath. The A/C worked when I first got it and all parts are complete, when freon leaked out I ran out of funds to fix to run on newer 134a. The drivers power window is very sluggish and may need more than a lube of the tracks and gears, maybe new motor is in the offing. This is strictly a cash and pick up where is as is deal. If interested email me for a phone number and we can talk. More images on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/frazgo/sets/72157600405571415/
