You are bidding on a 1970 Karmann Ghia Convertible. My wife and I bought this vehicle approx. three years ago off ebay from an individual in Indiana to use as a fun summer car (although we have also driven it in the winter and the heater does work). The vehicle has been a real head turner. Everywhere we go people honk and wave. Some even stop and tell us stories of what they remember about the Volkswagon. We have decided to sell this due to having a baby boy this past June. We have had the engine overhauled and chrome covers/pullys put on to give it a classic look. While we had it at the shop, the floor pans were rusted so we had them cut out and new metal sheets welded in. The dash is an aftermarket fiberglass dash that came with the vehicle when we purchased it. The convertible top itself is in great shape. The mileage is unknown, however I did have new gauges put in when the engine was overhauled and tuned up and there currently is a little over 3000 miles on this. We also had seatbelts installed in every seat. Considering this is a 40 year old car there are some minor damages. The seats appear to be an original vinyl and are showing cracking and wear. There is a cover (headliner) underneath the convertible top that needs to be replaced (I have the new one, just never put it on) and minor paint chips around the door jambs and small chips/light scratches here and there. The driver door hangs when opening and closing, the hood is up just a little on the driver side, and the tires have cracks in the side wall.The seals around the windows and doors appear to be original and are weathered. The black boot cover (cover's the convertible top while it is down) has a couple of buttons missing. The driver side front quarter panel has a dent and a cracked light cover. The wheels also appear to be dated and have spots of rust on them This Karmann Ghia has a 1600cc engine and has provided us with over 40 mpg in fuel while driving on the highway - it easily drives at 70 mph. Although there is minor damage and wear on the vehicle, it is fun to drive. I am selling this vehicle As-Is and believe it would make a fun project car for someone else to complete. The vehicle is located in Yukon, OK and it is the winning bidder's responsiblity to pickup. $500 deposit is due at the close of the auction and payment must be received either through pay-pal or certified bank check at time of pick up. The title will be mailed to the new owner after all funds have processed. Many of the photos were taken in SEPTEMBER, everything is the same except for it does not show the dent.
