Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1988 Mazda RX-7 Convertible Red with Grey Interior and Trim. I am the third owner of this vehicle. This car is a gem and truly among the best in its class with lots of TLC and an impeccable maintenance and service record. The car is in near mint condition and is always garaged and never driven in snow or rain. It has 94,500 original miles and is clean as a whistle inside and out. Where possible all originality has been kept and only minor changes have been made to the car and those have served only to improve its performance, function and reliability. Everything on this car is in good working order and nothing broken or damaged. Electric windows, electric locks, security system, electric antenna, radio, heat, A/C, pop-up headlights all work perfectly. This car is ideally suited to enjoy as a weekend pleasure cruiser yet reliable enough to be a daily driver. It would also be a great platform for future performance upgrades, but none are necessary to simply enjoy this beauty as is with the top down and wind blowing in your hair on as you motor down the highway. Many essential parts are new or relatively new having been replaced in the last four years. The following is a partial list of the records in the binder, which will be provided to the new owner with receipts, dates, prices and everything you need to know about the service record for this wonderful vehicle. Well over $4,000 has been spent in the last four years to keep this RX-7 in top working order. The maintenance and service records of this car are thoroughly documented in a 3 ring binder, including the following new parts and services:Engine Electrical:Battery Cable 2009Mazda OEM Wiring Harness 2007Transmission:Clutch 2007Racing Beat Flywheel 2007Clutch Master Cylinder 2007Exhaust:Racing Beat Cat Replacement Pipe 2007Borla Dual Exhaust 2006Brakes: Brake Pads Front & Rear 2006Brake Rotors Front & Rear 2006Other: Electric Door Switch 2007Electric Window Switch 2007K&N Cold Air Intake 2007 The car has been driven about 20,000 miles since 2006 with detail on service intervals and mileage provided in the 3 ring binder. The car has all original paint; the original convertible top and the original boot cover for when the top is down. I had Mr. Dent Wizard remove some door dings in 2009 and while it still has a few nicks and scratches, you will find the paint to have lots of luster and shine and minimal defects to the appearance. There are a few blemishes as to be expected with a car of this age. Minor rust formation passenger side rear quarter panel near wheel opening. The convertible top and boot cover are both impeccable with no rips, tears or blemishes. Overall the curb appeal of this car is very strong with an appearance rivaled by few in this class of RX-7.The interior is clean and the upholstery is without rips, tear or stains. The carpet and the floor mats are all original and in good shape, minor stains on passenger side. The dash components, air duct covers and all knobs, switches, etc. are all without chips, cracks, broken or missing parts or any unusual wear. The radio is original and works fine except a cassette is stuck in the player and I have never bothered to mess with this or change anything out related to the radio. The engine is clean and in good working order both mechanically and electrically. The stock air box has been removed in favor of a K&N cold air intake system that modestly increases performance. The battery cover and radiator fan cover have been removed and I have the battery cover but do not have the radiator fan cover as it no longer can attach with the removal of the stock air box. The exhaust and catalytic converters have been changed out to a Racing Beat pre-silencer straight pipe and a Borla dual exhaust that also modestly increase the performance. The car has a pleasant medium exhaust tone and sounds good. The original engine wiring harness has been replaced by a Mazda OEM wiring harness at the dealership, at a cost of over $1,700. Routine maintenance and service are also detailed in the binder with regular oil changes, spark plug replacement and the like. In addition to the car, I also have a few miscellaneous parts and items that will come with the sale: battery cover, air box parts, extra door lock switch, air filter cleaner system, Haynes RX-7 Repair Manual and a few other odds and ends. The car has been driven just 3,500 miles in the last two years but is started and run regularly and kept on a trickle charge during the winter. This car is an incredible value and something to enjoy and be proud of for any car enthusiast. The entire vehicle has been extremely well cared for over its entire life and with all the maintenance and repair items that have been completed recently, it is sure to give you lots of enjoyment free of worry or major expense. Feel free to contact me with any questions about this vehicle.
