Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1988 SUZUKI SAMURAI My old 88 is being sold as a parts Sammy. I drove it daily for several years until the rear axle bearings went out on it. Too bad, as it ran great with a strong engine, transmission and transfer case. But it had enough rust that I didn’t think it was worth the repair work. So I have been using it around my forest property to haul the firewood trailer on trails through the woods and that sort of thing. Still starts right up, still doesn’t burn oil or leak it. I also kept it as backup in case something major went out on the Sammy I bought to replace it, a tintop also currently listed on ebay. That one, too, never needed anything major, so I never needed to have a backup engine, transmission, etc. Both are being sold since I have a newer SUV. If you have need of major running gear parts, this is the donor. The body is far enough gone that I don’t think it is worth trying to return it to a daily driver. The seats are worn, top needs to be replaced. It is what it is… a good running gear minus rear axle. There’s no spare tire, but the tires on it are serviceable. Glass is good, no bumpers. Wipers work, heater works. No back seat. I replaced the alternator with a new one shortly before the bearings went on the axle. The battery is not included as it is from my boat. This is a no reserve auction and the Sammy must go. A deposit of $100.00 is required within 48 hours of the close of auction and full payment within 7 days. I will not ship, you come and get it.
