POLICE AUCTION: White Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, 102,454 miles, automatic transmission, VIN 2FALP71W2VX212126. This vehicle was purchased new in 1997 and was a take-home police cruiser until 2005 when it was made a back up unit. It was used as a backup unit from 2005 through most of 2009. This vehicle was serviced regularly (oil changed every 3K) from 1997 - 2009. We own the car and hold a clear title. Our policy mandates that all seized vehicles be sold at public auction. NOTICE: This vehicle has a severe knock somewhere in the engine. Our city mechanic states that is most likely a rod knocking but that it could be a wrist pin. He states vehicle needs major engine work or a new engine. Other than that, the vehicle is in good shape for a 1997 police car. We have removed the light bar, striping, siren, police radio and other emergency equipment. The front bucket seats are blue cloth; the drivers side seat back is ripped. The rear bench seat is blue vinyl. The vehicle has full rubber flooring. Vehicle starts and will run from point A to point B. However, as indicated above, the engine knocking is severe and I would not recommend driving vehicle until it is repaired.
