Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs 1955 Chevrolet 210 4 door wagon 235 six cylinder, 3 speed manual with the rare overdrive. Made a 2200 mile trip back from out west in April, traveling over the Hoover dam, through Kingman, Arizona and all the way east on Route 66, man what a ride! Check one off the bucket list. This is a very solid western car, Paint is approx. 2 years old, nice driver quality repaint in factory color over original paint, stainless is nice with a few small dings, chrome is all very nice and bumpers have some scuffs and scrapes but still shine well, Have a new correct antenna assy., but not installed yet, may get it done next week. Underside of car is very clean, floors nice and solid, one small rust spot about an inch in diameter and a tiny bit 1/4" wide at pass front seam, neither I would lift a finger on, spare tire well very nice. Couple little spots popping on bottom of tailgate, and some bubbles on pass side of roof( previous owner said they were just tiny pin holes but it wasn't properly prepped before repaint. If anything I would repair them and repaint the roof sea mist green to match the 2-tone interior. The interior is old and worn but mostly original as the photo's show. Engine was also rebuilt about 5 years ago and runs flawlessly. It didn't use a drop of oil the whole trip! Brakes worked about as good as any old 55 and the car drove straight and true. We blazed across the country at 55-60 mph, got an honest 20 mpg. I installed a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bushing and had the flywheel turned, also got a fresh oil change and filter, and new fluids in the trans and overdrive unit. Engine never past 190 degrees and that was climbing a mountain and it was hot out there! The car will come with the factory green 15" wheels with the dog dish hubcaps that have older radials on them as in some of the "out west" photo's show, not the black wheels with the wide whites, those are off my 58 Brookwood, I just installed them to see what it would look like with wide whites. I like them but the car drives 200% better with modern day radials, believe me! This is a cool old car you can jump in and drive anywhere, a blast from the past with a very affordable reserve. Again car will only come with it's factory green wheels with older radials( put 2200 miles on em) and the hubcaps in the pics. There are no warranties implied or written. Please do not bid if you have less than 5 feedback as I will cancel your bid! On Aug-14-10 at 09:36:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I went through a few drafts before I came up with the final description and I see I messed up in a couple areas, I was dog tired. #1, my reserve was supposed to be 7500.00 not 6500.00, that was the reserve for my 59 that I sold a couple weeks ago, but oh well, I still think it will easily get there. #2, it does have a few pieces of cracked glass, both rear door glasses have a crack, left quarter glass has a crack, this is bolt in glass and fairly easy to replace. It's also all easily obtainable, just shop around a little for your best deal . I'll be at the racetrack watching the Nationwide and Cup series races this weekend and will try to respond to final questions when I get home in the late evening.
