I selling this nice Boat Tail for my 80 year old brother. He has owned it, and babied it, for several years, and now feels its time to liquidate. (He doesn't have a computer, and By God he is not going to get one, so I have this duty to perform for him) I know for sure he spent a lot of money having it repainted. (I didn't think it needed it). He also had some of the seat covering replaced. I think the seats are vinal, but I really can't tell. They might be leather, but I don't think so. I'm thinking it has a new exhaust too. Carpet, trunk and under hood is very nice. He just had a rebuilt carb and new ignition installed, because he thought it ran rough. (It didn't) Uses not oil, no leaks, and runs in "normal" heat range. This is the big 455 c.i.d. engine. I drove it from his home to here in Sioux City, 275 miles, and what a pleasure it was to drive. Kind of felt like the Queen Mary. Never missed a beat, and nice cold air all the way. The tires are probably half or better in tread, and he sent some extras for some reason. I can't think of anything the car needs, and would not take much to make it show room quality. For the past two months it has set in the Mid-America Museum for Air and Transportation, and got a lot of admiring looks. It would be a shame to use it for a daily driver, but Oh Boy, what a great tour car it is. I would not be afraid to start a cross county trip, no worries at all. I can't think of any thing the car needs, but if you are a prefectionist, I'm sure you could find things besides detailing that you could do. Just as an aside, he has over $11,000 invested, and the reserve is much much lower than that. I don't think my brother wants to take call via phone, as he doesn't hear very well, but you are invited to call me at 712 251-4220 with questions or comments.
