Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This vehicle is a Datsun 620 Pickup with the original L16 1.6L 4 cylinder engine. I have a clean title in hand. Keep in mind the miles shown are not original miles the odometer lacks a 7th digit. I bought this as a project truck. Now the only thing left is to replace the engine and transmission. I will not have the money or time to do it in the foreseeable future so I am looking to find her a new home. The interior looks great. The cab is insulated with dyna-mat then topped with rubber flooring. The seat was recently redone in black vinyl. The dash has been capped and detailed. The original radio still works. The door hands have been replaced as well as the seat belts. The only thing that still needs to be done is the steering wheel. I planned on replacing it or refinishing it but have not done so. The exterior looks good as well. This was a California model and I am guessing it spent most of its time there because rust is minimal. As you can see there is only body damage to the driver’s –side front fender. I also painted over a small part of the hood to seal peeling paint. She still has all her original badges and logos. With exception to the roof and a small spot on the hood, the paint is all original Datsun burnt orange. I replaced the shocks and rear brakes. Then I converted the front brakes to disc. It has 4 new tires. The only thing I would do other than an engine/tranny swap, is replace the bushings on the steering arms. They work fine but they are old and nasty looking. The engine like I said is the original. That being said, I think it could use a rebuild. Right now it runs but it tends to backfire occasionally. Also the engine just feels underpowered a KA24DE from a Frontier or 240SX would be a fine replacement. I would not trust this truck on a long drive as is. I am a novice with carbureted engines and had no plans of keeping this one so I did not even try to fix it. This truck can not be driven far as it sits. The transmission has trouble. It only shifts well at high RPMs. This truck would make a great hot-rod but at this point is still worthy of a restoration as well. Whichever direction you take it, this truck is an awesome piece of history and just plain awesome. Included with this vehicle are the random parts I have for it. I have a pit-arm and several other replacement bushings, an unpainted grill, paint and primer in spray cans (that is matched to the truck), a full set of hubcaps, extra grill and several other odds and ends. If you have any questions let me know.
