1989 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel Wolfsburg Edition. 176,193 1.6 Diesel 5 Speed Non turbo engine I used this car for my commuting to work. When I bought it had been sitting for a long time. Almost all the wear parts had to be replaced. Including front brakes, front rotors, rear brakes, rear wheel bearings, rear shocks, muffler and tailpipe, shifter bushings, all fluids, water pump, thermostat, injectors, timing belt and tensioner, all drive belts, and tires. Car has new block heater Things that need to be addressed in the future are front wheel bearings and front shocks but they are not showing signs of problems. Car is mostly rust free especially undercarriage and floorboards. There is some rust around the windshield and drivers side lower front fender. There are some dents in passenger side front door. Car gets 43 miles a gallon or better. There are no rips or tears in seats. Small cracks in dash. Still has original radio. Car has air conditioner option but it currently is not functional, but all parts are there. This car would be a great car for a veggie oil conversion. In 1997 when car had 126,067 the previous owner either checked milege exceeds mechanical limits of odometer box when that person sold it. Or in the State of Illinois that automatically defaults after so many years. The odometer shows 176193 and the car set for 9 years from 2000 to 2009 Unregistered. I bought it in early 2009 got it running and drove it until april of this year. The odometer worked every time i drove it. IF THIS IS A PROBLEM TO YOU DO NOT BID ON THE CAR!
