Vehicle Detail
This is a 1957 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive step side short bed 3100 pickup truck. I have had this vehicle about two years with my son and I working on it from time to time. It is stored inside. We bought the basic frame and cab from one individual and collected all the remaining parts over the last two years. We have blasted lots of the parts and primed them and then painted some. Many parts are sealed in plastic after we blasted and primed them to keep them nice. We sand blasted the frame and primed it with red oxide primer and then painted it with chasis black paint. We installed a small block Chevrolet engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission using new cross members. These cross members have not been permanently attached incase the new owner wants a different set up. We were told this was a 350 engine but the casting numbers make it look like a 307 CID engine. We have not run the engine but it appears to be a solid restorable engine. We got the Turbo 400 from another individual and was told it was working when detached from its old engine. There are almost two complete truck beds with two left, two right and two rear sides plus extra cross members and other extra parts. Use the best ones and sell/trade the extras. There are three doors with two passenger side and one driver door to select from or use as trading/seeling material. We have primed or painted the heater fan, vents, glove box, engine fan, window tracks, hood hinges, door hinges, and numerous extra parts and pieces we gathered to use and to trade. The fenders, inner fenders, radiator support, rear fenders and most parts and pieces are servicable. The hood is really in good shape. The doors will require some work but parts can be swapped between them plus the extra window mechanics to make two good ones. The cab is in good shape but needs new back corners on each side that are easily available and inexpensive from many locations. We will provide catalogs/sources if requested for restoration parts. We are selling since many folks get a kick out of selecting their colors and assembling these vehicles themselves. We have way too many vehicles and must sell a couple to make room for ones setting outside. If we do not sell it this week, we will continue to sand blast the remaining parts and prime them and paint the vehicle a light blue eventually and list it at a much higher price. If you are looking for a great project for yourself or for a father/son project, this could be it. Almost everything is here to assemble a great 1957 Chev PU. Then just add some new reproduction emblems, chrome, and finishing touches to make it shine. I also have the rear cab glass stored elsewhere to keep it from breaking. Please ask any questions you have before bidding since there is no reserve and I started the bidding low to move this item out of my garage. My son has moved onto working on lots of Honda vehicles and no longer wants to help dad finish this one in any hurry. My loss is your gain since we have visited dozens of swap meets, car shows and garage sales to gather all of the parts and pieces included with this auction. I will deliver everything free within 100 miles and further for $1 a mile. If the bidding goes well, I will negotiate with the high bidder concerning delivery at a better or fixed rate. I request a $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit within 72 hours to hold the vehicle until we can arrange pickup or delivery within 30 days. Balance to be paid as negotiated with the high bidder upon end of the sales process. Please ask all questions before bidding/buying as I have to pay Ebay regardless if you back out or change your mind after the close of the auction. Email me at dennis6764@gvtc.com or call 830-438-7857 home or 210-416-0275 cell if you wish to inspect the vehicle or have questions. I have a clear Texas Title that I will sign over to the winner. Happy bidding and thanks for reading my ad. We will be installing the cab back onto the frame before selling the vehicle. We will package and deliver the other parts and pieces unassembled unless other terms are agreed upon prior to the sale of this vehicle. On Aug-09-10 at 22:15:01 PDT, seller added the following information:Today we reinstalled the cab onto the frame, added the from fenders, inner fenders, radiator support, and hood. Actually looks like a truck again. Also, loaded the doors into the cab area along with the gas tank. Then put down plastic onto the rear frame, added a sheet of plywood and stacked all the truck bed parts and pieces for transport. Will pack all additional parts into boxes Tuesday and vehicle will be ready to roll onto the car trailer Wednesday. Can be delivered this week to the high bidder so they can work on it this weekend. Happy bidding.
