For No Reserve Bid: 1983 Mercedes Benz 300sd Turbodiesel Coupe. Well, I bought this car several months ago with the intention of running this on WVO ( waste vegetable oil) and biodiesel. . Never got to it. My wife really never liked the car and I bought a Saab 900. This car has a salvage title as the older owner ( emphasis on "older") hit a deer and mess up the sheet metal. He had the car for a long time and loved it. He bought the car from the insurance company and restored it to what you see here. When I bought it it needed a center carrier bearing and some electrical work. There is trim missing and the rest of the car need TLC. The car is strong, the engine fires up quickly and the car can keep up with traffic without a problem. The electrical things ( mentioned above) are as follows: the headlights only work in highbeam as they were replaced in the restoration with the wrong bulbs, the heater/air/defroster controls need to be replaced and the circuits troubleshot, the turn signals need a new turn signal relay. Other issues are the engine needs a good cleaning, probably needs a valve adjust ( I have the special wrenches for this, I will include with the car), the interior trim needs work. replacement. All windows are electric as is the sunroof and are all working. Cosmetically, the body is in good shape. The hood star is missing as it was probably gracing the bling of some rapper. The driver door trim is missing. The bumper rubber on the front driver side is missing. The plastic grate on the wiper well on the driver side is missing a small section. The emergency kit is missing in the back window deck. The mileage meter is broken ( a common problem on these old Mercedes) it is stuck at 224803. I haven't driven it over 100 miles total. It would need a new/replacement speedometer. This is a great car for biodiesel/WVO. Diesel don't need conversion ( as long as it has been completely filtered) just put it in and go. This car get about 32 mpg on # 2 diesel. With Biodiesel or WVO it would probably be higher. Yes, diesel is usually .40 cents higher but this car get better gas milage that most gasoline cars. Yes, it's noisy, I love that sound) Something I almost forgot to mention. There is a nice Alpine CD player in the console. It has a removable face The model number is CDA-7840. Nice stereo and it is already hooked up for base cabinet in the trunk. Buy it to part out or buy it to restore. Frankly, I'd like to see someone get some great use out of this car. These mercedes diesels are reliable and can get up to 600,000 miles or better You'll probably still be driving this car when someone else has gone through several econoboxes. The bidding is NO RESERVE, Sold "AS- IS" You will have to ship the car to you. I will help with the initial pick up but I cannot ship for you. The car is out of registration and cannot be driven without tags.
