Reluctantly up for sale is this well preserved low milage, rare future collector car. One of the last attempts that the Dying AMC brand tried with Renault of France in the mid-late 80's. This was the last year of the Alliance/GTA period. The GTA featured ground accent lower bodyside package, spoiler, sports tuned suspension, fog lamps, electronicly tuned, am/fm stereo radio, with working cassette! Oddly enough, this car didn't come with the optional heated back window. This car was purchased by my father in 1993 from the original owner who leased the car, then bought it off lease... She drove the car up until the timing belt broke, and if you know Renaults, you need to change the belts.... If you don't.... they break, and doing so, they can bend valves and cost a new head.... Which is exactly what this car did.... My father drove the car up until 1997 when he got a Jeep..... It was then going to be my first car... I had to many cars to pick from for my first car, and decided to park the car into the corner where it sat until around 2001.. It then went to a heated garage. I just need the space, and time is right to pass this really unique survivor car onto the right buyer. This car was preserved this far, and I will refuse it to be sold to a daily driver...The car is too nice. Runs and drives excellent. Drive it to a show or a cruise. It has a 2.0 litre 4 Cyl paired with a 5 speed standard transmission It was refered to as the "pocket rocket" according to the sales brochure. Tires are good.. Two fronts were replaced along the way and the two backs are fair. It has good brakes, and a few calipers were fixed during its small trips and occasional drives.... New exhaust, and really the only thing wrong is the headliner that is out of the car completly. It can be replaced for a fair price, but just haven't gotten around to do it. am/fm cassette, with fog lights, cruise, working quartz clock, all glass is perfect....... There are a few minor light dings (see pic) on the door and front fender from a few cars that were next to it over the years, and one small rust bubble that has been there since 1993.... It was bought out of CrowleyAMC/ Jeep in Bristol CT.. Original owner info as well as warranty card are included int he glove box. Floor mats and interior are original, and includes new second set of NOS Renault mats. The trunk lids paint is faded a tad, however still looks great.
