Vehicle Detail
1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible tribute car, READ ON... you may be impressed, its faster and stops better than most. This was originally a Tempest/Lemans as all GTO's were, this is a tribute/clone car. As you know the '64 GTO was an option with the 389 c.i. engine and other features. I was looking for a true 1964 GTO convertible, I found some, but many were not original. Unless you have a fully documented PHS car and know the history it is easy to falsify documents, VIN numbers, cowl tags, etc... the ones I found claimed to be "real" but were not. I have always loved the 64 GTO convertible and the real ones in perfect condition run $40, 50, or 60K+. Here are the specs of mine... 428 c.i. New/Rebuilt High Performance 4 bolt main Engine with 800-1000 miles, WL code, block casting number 9792968 puts out 420+ hp & 450+ lbs torque, FAST car, I can send you engine, cam specs etc... I have the engine shop receipt costing thousands to rebuild. 4 Speed Muncie M21 Transmission with Hurst Competition Plus Shifter, New Clutch 4 Wheel Disc Power Brakes New Auburn 3.90 Posi-Traction Rear End New Edelbrock 1411 750 cfm carburetor New Edelbrock Aluminum Manifold Power Convertible Top in good condition and fully working Power Windows Power Steering New HEI ignition Factory in dash Tach, but does not work Factory Pontiac radio, works New U-joints New Exhaust and Mufflers New seat covers, interior, 12-14 months ago New door, trunk seals New Nice looking Wood Steering Wheel Dupont Chromabase Basecoat/Clearcoat paint 12-14 months old, color is Phonecian Yellow Polished 15x7 American Racing Wheels with BF Goodrich Radial Touring Tires Bucket Seats with NICE console and factory Pontiac vacuum gauge Solid frame, no rust issues Even the original cigarette lighter still works Protect-o-Plate and many receipts Email for more information and pics, NICE car nothing to hide The previous owner told me that the original owner only drove it in the spring, summer and fall. The P.O. bought it, painted it had the engine rebuilt and added the 4 wheel disc brakes but did not finish it. I have the original protect-o-plate, documents, receipts and will post pictures of them. He says I am the 3rd owner but I cannot verify that. We have spent considerable time, effort, and money on this car. I believe in selling as honest as possible. The hood is a lightweight fiberglass GTO one. The little issues are, needs a new horn and the switch is on the bottom of the dash, power windows need adjustment they do not go all the way up because of the rubber trim. The driver and passenger main windows are 1-2" from going all the way up and coming all the way down, it should have felt trim instead of rubber ones. The driver side rubber trim is off and in trunk. All power windows work but driver side main switch for back passenger window does not go up, all others work fine. Vacuum gauge takes 1-2 mins for needle to move. Factory tachometer is in dash but does not work. The exhaust manifold gaskets are leaking and needs new ones. The previous owner had the paint and body done. All lights, turn signals, and wipers work fine. I have listed the good and have done the best I can to list any issues she needs, please ask any questions you may have. I am going to start an account on photobucket with over 50+ pictures, I have nothing to hide and want you to see as much as possible. I am only selling it to pursue business venture and need the extra capital, she sits in my garage/shop and I am always busy so I don't drive her as much. I put a low reserve considering the amount of time and money I have invested. You are welcome to look at the car or have someone check it out for you. It is sold as-is with no warranty, email me for more pictures and information, thank you for looking. I can email you any specific picture you want, as I said I will also be listing over 50 pics on photobucket. I just wanted to list it on ebay this weekend. This car is in very good condition, FAST, unique and turns heads. A true classic, email me for more pictures or information, thank you. The car is in very good condition. I have added pictures of the top. The power top looks very good and works great. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. On Jul-28-10 at 11:46:23 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: People have asked me about the new/rebuilt 428 c.i. engine. This was one of Pontiac's good strong high performance engines in 1969, the original specs were... 1969 428 390 HP WL M 10.75 068 48 1-4 7029263 GP Block Casting # 9792968 This one is built a bit stronger but not too radical to put out 420+ est. hp and 450+ lbs est. torque.
