Vehicle Detail
1968 Camaro SS 396/350hp 4-speed Original big block 1968 Camaro Super Sport. This is the real thing, and would be a great addition to any muscle car or classic Chevy collection. Restored exactly as it came from the factory, this Camaro was ordered with the very rare 'high performance' 396/350 horsepower engine. In fact, it is the rarest of all the high-end Camaros that year, with a little over 2200 cars built with that motor. More rare than the 325 hp and 375 hp cars, and rarer than the Z-28. It is an early production car, built in October/November of 1967. Recently finished in the correct Matador Red (not offered through all of '68 run), with correct '67 style white bumble bee stripe (offered until Jan '68). Ordered with the big motor, 3:31 12-bolt posi, M-21 close ratio trans, Delco am radio, console, special instrumentation, wide oval red line tires, and SS wheel covers (very rare). No doubt the original owner wanted a powerful street and highway car, without all the power-robbing frills and gimicks. Best of all, this car is documented with the original owner's packet, owner's manual, protecto plate, and original salesman order sheet. I also was able to contact the original owner's wife and son, and contact information will be provided to the new owner. Full restoration photos (before, during and after), and all receipts are included in a thick binder. There are many Camaros out there that claim to be correct and original, until you do the research and find out that most are not original at all, with different motors, etc....then try to find one with its original paperwork. I looked hard and long before I bought and finished this car. This car is for the consumate collector. Own one of the rarest 1st generation Camaros, with all matching numbers on every component, top to bottom, that runs and handles like a brand new '68 big block Super Sport should. Have had some interesting trade and cash offers on this car...close, but have not hit what it would take for me to let her go. I will consider a reasonable offer if it is realistic.
