Vehicle Detail
If you follow my auctions you know I have been selling used ATV's on eBay for over 9 years and naturally travel all over the country, pulling a trailer, picking up and delivering them. Up until a year or so ago, this is the dually diesel truck I used and would trust it to go anywhere! It is the first generation 5.9 Cummins that is a 12 valve motor (perfect for converting to biodiesel) and from what I understand the most bulletproof of them all. It has an automatic transmission with overdrive and it has so much torque it almost never comes out of 4th. I am typically only pulling around 4500-6500lbs, so am barely working the torquey engine. As you can tell from the pictures it has well over half tread left on the tires, has bucket front seats with an extended cab to haul extra crap (that is what I always ended up with-back there) and is in good shape. Since it was always used for hauling ATV's the tailgate has a few dents and there are some paint chips on the edges of the dually fenders, just what you would expect with a 200,000 mile truck. I always changed the oil at 4,000 miles and ran fuel lubricant in the diesel-to lubricate the pump. (the pump was serviced about 15k ago) It has always had a very slight seep out of the backside of the engine (and my 1997 Dually does too) but nothing bad enough to try to chase. The best mileage I have ever gotten was right at 19 empty and it typically get 14's pulling a load. Great pulling truck for 15% of a new Dodge dually diesel! I can't understand how they get this cheap (heck, the four wheelers I sell are worth more than the truck pulling them-figure that out?) It is not "creampuff" like most sellers try to tell you, but is a very good work truck and has tons of life left in it. A friend of mine got over 600,000 miles out of his 1993 before he finally sold it. (there is a million mile club on the internet for the 12 valves) I bought another dually 12 valve just like this, only a 1997 with a manual 5 speed, and so don't need both. I am selling this one for $5995 with NO RESERVE, so you know if you are bidding-you are buying. The title on this truck is a clear Colorado title. According to the CArFax this truck had an insurance loss title when it was 2 years old. It could have been an accident or a theft recovery, etc. I listed this truck a couple of weeks ago and it was delisted by ebay. Even though I have a clear Colorado title and it has been a clear Colorado title for over 10 years and according to an attorney that I know well and called-I should list it as clear and then explain as I did in this text that at one time it was a Salvage according to Auto Check. Legally I should not disclose it as salvage since the title I have, and always have had is not but here is the dialogue I got from one of the kids who work for eBay:Since your listing describes your title as Other and contains incomplete or inaccurate information about the title brand, we removed the listing. You are not able to state that you have a clean, clear or anything contradictory to the AutoCheck. The reason being is that we are not able to guarantee that the buyer of your vehicle will receive a clear title, as title laws vary from state to state. I did not know when I bought it but thought you should know if you are interested in this truck. For 17 years old it is nice. Compared to new-it is 15% the cost of a new one and probably an 8 on a scale of 1-10. Shouldn't it be worth 80%? ;) As with my 4 wheelers-I am happy to deliver to either location for free or an extra 100 miles for $100. I can arrange shipping for further distances. Good luck-it is hard to find nice used duallies in this price range.
