Vehicle Detail
1979 911 for parts or restore or track car. Previous owner had running rough issues with car and parked it. And then never got back to fixing it. Car sat for 20 years until I purchased it to rebuild as a track car. No other historical info is known. Car has low original miles. All the body panels but the hood are in straight condition. Hood dents will pop out but there maybe body filler needed to make the hood be useable for a street car. Windshield was broken out so consider the interior ruined, other items like gauges, pedals , handles, metal hardware may be reuseable. Rear spoiler rubber as well typical exterior rubber items are either gone or needing replaced. The rear glass on the coupe has delaminated. Tires are original from when car was parked and are unuseable. Rims are BBS/mahle honey combs. I can probably fit used tires to rims after sale, there will be a tire disposal fee , mount and stem expense should the buyer wish to make the car a full able roller. Front pan shows no signs of rust but I have not done a detailed inspection. I wish I had time to fix this car but I am going to focus my efforts on a different Porsche as a track car. I can maybe trailer deliver the car depending on final destination, just email for details. Fresh Oklahoma Title. On Jul-30-10 at 09:27:20 PDT, seller added the following information: The AC condenser is corroded and has a broke pipe. Some of the wire harness has been nibbled on by rodents, most of it just the loom covering but I'm sure they might have exposed copper. Not that most 911 harnesses haven't been hacked on anyway. The floor pan looks good from the underside of the car. Here is a web link to recent pics. http://picasaweb.google.com/maxpromedia/NewAlbum730101052AM# The ox sensor control unit was pulled out , so they must have been trying to diagnose something under the dash or to figure out the rough running , which was part of the story I was told by the previous owner. The car is as is, I'm a porsche club member and former porsche mechanic. I buy and part out cars as a hobby to fund my motorsport habits. Thus the reason for selling this car is to fund a larger project. Any other detailed pics I will try to take and answer any questions. But I'm not climbing in the car due to the broken glass plus I would have to unload it off the trailer to get the doors to open further. The interior is as is pictured. I pulled the carpet back on the driver side and all I saw was sound proof coating. In 79 Porsche allegedly went to a galvanized body coating. You can see surface rust on the car but there does seem to be a coating that just didn't hold up to being exposed for so long to the elements. This seems consistent with the other late 70's Porsches I have owned. The mid 80s cars got better at rust prevention. The reserve is 3500. I can pull the motor and trans and do a refresh on both and probably double my reserve. I have too many other cars to part out and sell other wise I would just store this car for later. Each time I walk by it, I start second guessing on selling it. In the other pics you see an 84 944 that needs a head gasket, a 81 931 that needs a motor, and 88 924S club sport which needs a fuel pump. Plus I'm a water cooled guy vs a oil cooled guy. Not pictured are parts project cars, 89 turbo s parts car with 7K original miles, two 86 951's, one which is a track car project, 87 924S , another 88 924S club sport parts car, 85 chassis, 82 944 track car, 82 931 autocross car. And then there is the daily driver 93 968 and the weekend 85 911. If you happen to be interested in anything there let me know, everything has a price right! Just email and I can list with a buy it now price.
