Vehicle Detail

Here is an awesome deal on my 1998 Dodge Durango 4x4. I bought this truck about 2 1/2 years ago from a used car dealer in Tampa, where it was a repo and had about 195,000 miles. This is not a show truck, it is a work truck or great parts car for someone who has a 'cherry' 1998 that they want an ample supply of working parts. The reason I classify it as a work truck is its overall condition, where it has a variety of dents (large and small), dings, scratches and includes a small crack in the windshield. Additionally, the interior is just okay, the drivers seat is very worn, the headliner is falling a little at the windshield, but the balance if the interior is in good condition. This truck is strictly used to tow my boat, jet skis and atv's between Florida and Virginia where it sometimes sits for 6 months unused. Unfortunately, with an older truck when it sits this long something goes wrong every spring and I just do not have time to deal with it anymore. So here is the story..I purchased the truck and made it road worthy to include new tires, balance/rotate, alignment, starter, battery, water pump, hoses, transmission pan, re-sealed the transmission and recharged the A/C (front and rear). The front end is solid with no play indicating someone had the ball joints service and the brake pads are hardly worn. The A/C is currently blowing warm air up front and cold in the rear, so there is probably a zone solenoid that needs to be replaced, as the compressor gets ice cold. I spent about $2,000 on it and it has made 4 uneventful (thats good) trips towing my 3,000# boat at an average of 15 miles per gallon. The bad news is I went to go to Virginia on vacation a few weeks back (after sitting for 3 months) and there was a puddle of steering fluid under the car. I went out and bought a late model truck to replace the Durango and now it is time to sell the SUV. I have not gone out to find out what is wrong (seal or hose) and do not plan on going to find out. Other than that, the only other intermittent problems I have had are an occassional hard start (very hard and then fires right up) and occassionally it will hesitate at high speeds (no loss of power just a brief hesitation). That has not stopped me from hopping in it an driving 800+ miles at a time. As you can see, I have 100% Feedback over the past 10 years and I have given all the facts about this SUV so the buyer can be informed. The Buy it Now price reflects the current condition and is a financial lose on my part (however, I will benefit from the fact my wife will be thrilled to get it out of the driveway). Power steering fluid and frequent stops should get you home on a short trip; however, I do not want to give anyone the wrong impression...for safety you should have it service before driving or get a tow bar/U-Haul dolly to get it home. Good luck bidding and e-mail me with any questions. Thanks.
