This is a 1969 VW bus VIN #239077256. It has a current Utah registration but is located in Chula Vista CA. I've owned it for about 4 years but have driven it very little. It was a gift to my wife but she never got comfortable driving it. (No power steering or power brakes.) It began life as a camper but sometime in the past was converted into a regular van, although without the middle row seat. The interior was probably redone at the same time, is still in great shape, and looks almost new. The yellow exterior was probably done then too. The engine is a stock dual port model which means it's somewhat newer than the rest of the car. In the process of getting it ready for sale, I had an entire new clutch assembly, a heavy duty oil cooler and fan, reconditioned heads and new piston rings installed. This was less than 200 miles ago. I put new tires all around less than 1,000 miles ago. I have also replaced the battery. The brakes had been done shortly before I bought the car and are in very good condition. The shifter is a little sloppy but once you get used to it you won't notice. Overall the bus is in top shape mechanically. As for the body, you can see the areas where rust has begun to show, especially on the right front corner, and there are also some minor to moderate dings and scratches here and there. Just recently the hinge on the side door failed, causing some minor damage to the track. I have not replaced the hinge so the door is inoperable but I'm told it can be fixed. Floor panels are sound and the body is otherwise in great shape especially considering its age. Overall this is a vehicle that can be driven daily, and while no one will mistake it for a complete restoration, you'll still get plenty of attention driving it around.
