Your bidding on a 1953 oldsmoblie super 88 deluxe four door sedan. The frame as far as i can tell is still solid, i went along the frame tapping it to be sure and no rusted out spots were found. I am not a professional though!!!!! Your are more then welcome to inspect it yourself before we complete the sale. The engine is seized but it was taken to a mechanic who told us that engine was fine it was just surface rust that caused it to seized, the car has not been run in quite some time though. The body itself is in fairly good condition, as is the inteior. There are a few rust spots and dings and some of the chrome is missing but it is pictured. THE CAR IS ALL ORGINIAL AND HAS MATCHING NUMBERS ON IT! Its been in the family only and was owned by my grandfather until he passed away and it has been sitting in the garage ever since. The only other thing is the key is lost and we have not made a replacement made. All and all your looking at a fairly good parts car or project car for anyone who is attached to the super 88. From what i found the VIN and body style id decode as follows The VIN number 53 = Year 1953 8 = Super 88 Model M = Michigan (Lansing) 103824 is the sequence number. The starting number at each assembly plant was 1001 and ending numbers were by series at each coded plant. M = Michigan Super 88 production ended with M107336. Style 53 - 3669D 53 is the model year. In your case a 1953 3669D is the Style number and in your case a Super 88 Deluxe 4 door sedan. Body No. L 60161 L = Lansing Michign is where the car was built 60161 is the Production sequence number . This car BODY was the 60,161 st car BODY built for that year. Trim No. 83 = Blue cloth seats Paint No. 41 = Cadet Blue is the color of the car.
