I have decided to retire at the end of this year, so I am selling my one of a kind Mercedes 1985 300CD coupe. I am a private owner, that have owned the car for about 3 years. I only take it around my gated community, about once every 2-3 weeks. The car has 28,000 miles, and I purchased it from the original owner. I have done the following. Serviced the transmission, and changed the fluid. All belts where changed. All filters where changed, including the gas filter in the gas tank. Valves where adjusted. A/c was checked and serviced. All fluids, including the radiator where drained and changed. Headlight frames are new. The plastic, grey, grill insert is new, and there is a new, black custom, leather, steering wheel cover. The steering wheel is like new, under the cover. Everything on the car was checked and works like it did when the car was new. I know these cars well, and know about all the little things that can go wrong. Vacuums, vents, etc. When I say everything works, I mean just that. Everything is original, except for the following. The tires are new Michelin, Harmony. The shift knob is Zembrano, (original knob is included). Radio is a Blaupunkt CD player, (original working radio is included. The hood vents are pre 1982, factory chrome vents. After 1982 Mercedes went to the Black vents, which also will be included. Chrome ones look much better. Comes with 2 sets of mats. Factory, and cocoa mats. I will try not to get to long with the condition of this car, because, simply put, inside and outside is as new as you will find anywhere. The chrome in like new. The window chrome all around is like new. Rubber is not faded or brittle. The rubber on the bumpers, all around is not faded, worn, or dull, like most. The wood is like new. The wheels are original, with no painting, and look new. The extrerior is near showroom, with original, Blue Black Metallic (199 paint code) Painted pinstripe is perfect. Interior is Palimino 254) Engine compartment, looks new, with the original, cosmoline coating from factory. The interior is like the day it was new. Naturally, no cracks on the dash. No fading, and no wear anywhere. Has the window sticker, showing the car sold for $36,303 when new. Comes with all books and manuals, and the framed window sticker. Spare tire is the original, never used. Car has always been garaged. Mileage is an average of 1153 per year!! Amazing!! I took the car to a MBCA car show in March of 2008, and won First place in one of the catagories. This is not a dailey driver! This is a collector, museum car. Of course, the new owner can do what he likes, but it would be ashamed to use as a dailey driver. This car is NOT CHEAP. If you are looking for a cheap 123 coupe, there are a few on Ebay. This car, is for that one person, that wants the best, and doesn't mind paying the price. Car will appreciate in value. The ecterior color, 199, was only available on the 1985, 123 models. Inspections are more than welcome. I am going to guess the pictures won't do this car justice. The car is near perfect condition!!
