Vehicle Detail
1973 honda CB500, 25k miles, new exhaust, clutch, clutch cable, euro bars and bar end mirrors, carbs rebuilt, new points, oil, plugs, air cleaner. Bike runs well and is lots of fun on the back roads. Always gets plenty of attention when I ride it. This is not a complete rebuild, it's still a 37 year old classic with some imperfections in the chrome but over all it's a great looking bike. I've included some close up pictures to show what the condition of the chrome in certain sections of the bike is like. You'll also notice that I tool a picture showing the carb bowls and how one of them does not have the overflow drain in tact. The overflow tube had a crack so instead of buying a new one I sealed the drain hole. It leaked once and gas ate through some of the paint (I painted) on the side engine covers (see pics). Please note that this bike runs like a 37 year old bike. It has mechanical carbs which at times hesitate at low speeds. The clutch sometimes chatters on dead stop up hill starts as these bikes don't have much horsepower. There is a slight vibration at higher speeds which I will attribute to front wheel bearings however I'm not positive on that. I've tried to describe the bike as best as I could so that there are no issues if someone wins the auction. There is no warranty on this bike, once it's sold it's not my responibility. Winning bidder is in charge of picking up the bike. I will not ship nor have time to arrange shipping for anyone. IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON BUYING THE BIKE TO NOT BID. On Jul-22-10 at 10:30:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note the the state of Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles manufactured prior to 1981. The motorcycle will be sold with the registration (registered to me) signed over to the buyer (lower section of registration is for this and acts as a bill of sale). There will also be a Supplemental Assignment of Ownership (Q-1 form) included. See link from the CT DVM for more information. http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=801&Q=244524&dmvPNavCtr=|#30280
