Vehicle Detail
I am the second owner of this 1976 Carousel Red (Orange) Trans Am. I purchased this car from the original owner who ordered it in February of 1976 and had it delivered to the Wheeling, West Virginia Pontiac dealer on March 14, 1976. Original paint, exception: doors repainted in 1983 and rear bumper painted in 1984. Vehicle has never been involved in any type of accident. The dent on the driver's side door near the door handle was from a heavy object falling on it. All decals are original. Radiator and exhaust replaced in 1988. L-78, V-8, 400 with M-38 three speed automatic. 1977 Cragar Mag wheels which are in bad shape. This car has the original Motorola working 8-track AM/FM stereo with original speakers front and rear. Black interior with small rip in driver's seat as shown in photo. Original floor mats front and rear. Air conditioner blows cold air and was converted to R-134 in 2007. Vehicle has tilt wheel, rear defrost, working cigarette lighter with original lighter. Vehicle was Ziebarted one week after delivery. Vehicle has minor rust in door corners, spot rust on hood and small amount of rust around the rear window. (see attached photos) This car is easily restorable. I drive it everyday and it is mechanically sound. I had A/C, rear axle, and carb rebuilt due to the car sitting for several years in West Virginia. Fuel gauge works but car is empty at 1/4 showing on gauge. Car starts and runs good every time. Suspension is good, car corners like a Trans Am should. Original documentation that came new with the car: I have the original build sheet, two original carbon copies of build sheet, Uniroyal tire warranty, 1976 Owners Manual/General Information, 1976 Owners Manual/Operating Instructions, temporary registration certificate from 1976, Ziebart documentation, Space Saver spare brochure, warranty information, 1976 Consumer Information brochure and 1976 Pontiac Maintenance Schedule. This car is not perfect it is over 34 years old but it is worthy of a full restoration and still turns heads when I drive it. I have another project and cannot do two cars at one time so my loss is your gain. It won't break my heart if this car does not sell. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early. I do not have a buy it now price I would prefer to see how the auction plays out. Buyer is responsible for transportation. I will assist any buyer with meeting with the auto transport company you choose. Payment must be by paypal or cashiers check within 48 hours of close of auction.
