1972 BMW 2002 NOT RUNNING.....Head gasket blew while driving (6/6/10). The car was shut-off quickly and did not overheat. 220K total miles on chassis. 68K on rebuild. (1993) 4 speed. The speedometer replaced 9/2001. The milage shown on odometer not actual. I have owned this car for 17 years and 68k fun-filled miles. It was used eight months a year and stored Winters indoors. Car had extensive restoration in 1993; Engine rebuild, sheet metal, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, gas tank, ect,ect. Body mouldings, chrome trim ,side markers and front bumper removed. Some rust and small rot in usual areas; Lower door panels, rear wheel arches, lower front panel, lower rear window gasket area. A GOOD and SOLID car.... but a little tired. "Nearly everything important" operates ...brakes, lights, switches, window cranks, latches, sunroof, horn. There are a few small quirks: Wipers do not "park" correctly on their own, Blower motor operates on high-speed only, Heat lever not connected to valve in compartment under the hood... and some other minor things that I have put-up with(!) Seats a bit worn out....especially the rear. Needs one side rear wheel bearings?....the wheel a bit "shaky". Solid floors, trunk area and shock towers. Weber carb. Electric fuel pump. Good lights and lenses. Wood wheel and BMW sideview mirrors. (I sold a pair of identical mirrors for $150 on Ebay 10/2009) 320i rims. Smaller 1970 rear bumper. The 25+ year old Alpine stereo works intermittently. Have title. This is a 38 year-old vehicle. Car sold "As-Is" and "Where-Is". Car located off of RT95 between Mystic,CT and Watch Hill, RI.
