Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme S Convertible. It has very low miles, 85,654 as of today, the inspection and registration stickers are current (4/11 reg, 5/11 State Insp) and passed the Emission inspection with flying colors. It has the 3.4L DOHC engine, also known as the Twin Dual Cam seeing that it has 4 overhead cams (rather than a standard pushrod engine), this was a special engine designed by Lotus for GM, they are found in less than 10% of the Cutlass Supremes from 1991-1997. These engines are extremely reliable, produce a lot of power (so much so that GM actually detuned them becuase they didn't have the transmission technology at the time) and all the current 60 degree V6 GM engines are based off of it and the older 2.8L engine. I am the second owner of this vehicle, the original owner lived in California (San Fran area) and had it decked out with GPS and a bunch of other electronics that he removed prior to selling it to me here on E-Bay. The car came loaded from the factory with automatic a/c, AM/FM/Cass, Convertible top, Auto transmission w/OD, and a Heads Up Display (HUD) that shows your speed etc. Since I have owned the car I have used Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil and also changed the transmission fluid with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. I have gotten the convertible top motor fixed (it wouldn't go all the way up), replace the a/c compressor, the turn signal switch, brakes, battery, flushed the radiator, the HUD switch (it has a Heads Up Display that shows you speed, turn signals, and the various lights from the dash), put back in the slot area next to the HUD (he had cut it out for a piece of electronics), and replaced the non-working power antenna with a fixed one. The vehicle is in great shape for a 94, but it was a daily driver so it isn't perfect. The drivers side seat has a small hole in it, it looks to have been cut, I am not a smoker and neither was the 1st owner, but I have been told it also sort of looks like a cigarette burn without the burn part. The rubber gaskets on the rear slot windows are falling apart, the convertible top and curtain needs to be replaced (it is the original top and rear window), there are some various paint chips, and they had cut a hole in the rear deck for a magnetic antenna that has a metal button looking thing on it and rubbing signs of where the antenna was. The jack didn't work as some water evidently had leaked into the trunk, but I will include a jack from a different vehicle, the spare tire is fine and if the auction goes over $2500 I will include another alloy wheel and tire I bought in a junk yard for a spare. The drivers side door doesn't close perfectly unless you pull it pretty hard, I think it has sagged over the past 16 years. And the front window has a crack on the passenger side. Mechanically this car is GREAT! The engine runs like a top, the transmission pulls hard and is still smooth. Steering is good, brakes are strong. The A/C is very cold and the top goes up and down easily. You can buy a top and curtain (the part where the window goes) here on ebay for less than $300 if you are a do it yourselfer, or most upolstery shops charge around 750-1000 if you want them to do it. I have no doubts you could pick this car up and drive it anywhere, I did that back when I bought the car and drove it to Texas from California (I did stop and change the oil & filter first thing). I just changed the oil/filter at 84,996 so you are good for quite a while, I also balanced and rotated the tires. If you have any questions about this car, please email me, and 10% of the total auction is being donated to Harvest Partners.
