Vehicle Detail
This is a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, 289 V8, automatic. The car came equiped with power steering, air conditioning, power top, Deluxe pony interior, and center console. The convertible top is complete, with power motor, lines, pumps, etc, still in place. All Convertible specific components are also intact. The Deluxe interior is complete, rear seats are good condition, fronts are torn. All interior trim is there, but needing restoration. Center console is complete, factory a/c system is complete, Pony steering wheel is there, as is Pony specific door panels, and woodgrained instrument cluster and glovebox door. Drivetrain is also complete, less distributer and radiator. It appears as if the rest is all there, including the convertible specific engine bay bracing. Power steering pump and lines are there as well. Automatic trans holds in park and in gear. I do not know engine condition as I have not tried to turn it over without a distributer. I would assume it needs rebuilding at this point. Body is typical Mustang rusty. Please do not assume this is a simple restoration with floor pans and paint! It will most likely need full floorpans, frame rails, trunk pans, quarters, etc. Basically it is needing a complete restoration, but is a great starting point! It's 98% complete, and has almost every option available at the time. This would make a really great car when finished, but as you can see in the background, I have plenty in line ahead of it! Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding, and I will answer them as quickly and honestly as possible. I also encourage anyone to come and take a look at the car prior to bidding on it. As always, PLEASE do not bid if you do not intend to buy it, AND- if you bid with 0 feedback prior to contacting me, your bid will be cancelled. The car is being sold with a bill of sale only, as is- what you see is included, what you don't...isn't. Buyer must make a $500 deposit and contact me for pick-up and payment arrangements within 48hrs. As my feedback indicates, I am an honest seller, once again please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! I've had several people ask; the engine does turn over by hand using a socket on the crankshaft bolt. It turns over good, so it is definately not stuck and is most likely rebuildable. It still has oil in it, and it is clean (no coolant). It may even run with a distributer installed?? The intake casting is a C5 number, and I believe this is the original engine and transmission to the car. The body panels are also all original- it has never had any sheet metal replacement. Also, I'm selling this because I have too many other projects, so unless you want to trade me a Screaming Eagle Edition Harley Davidson straight up, please no offers! Thanks!!
