RELISTED for Additional Pictures Up for auction, a 1970 BMW 1600 cabriolet. We are listing this Bimmer for a friend who is a local collector. We are running a NO RESERVE auction! Total production from 1967-1972 was approximately 1682 cabriolet's. BMW did not produce these cars for the U.S. market. Estimates range from 30-100 cars currently in the U.S. imported by individuals. This is a very clean and solid example showing no signs of rust or corrosion. We have included some undercarriage pictures showing the frame rails and spare tire well. Cosmetically the exterior shows very well. The exterior has been professionally refinished to its original color. All of the chrome appears to be original, but in very good condition as you can see from the pictures. The only area that requires attention is the convertible top which has 2 small holes. The top is still available through BMW out of Germany, interested parties should contact Jim via phone or email for more info on the top. (440-221-8651). The seats and carpeting are in very good shape as well, and appear to be original. The dash has typical cracks, as you can see in the pictures. Mechanically, everything is in great shape, including the engine, clutch and drivetrain. Recent service work includes; new tires and rims, wiper transmission, new center link, new shifter bushings, new fluids and valve adjustment.
