1972 chevy 4X4 Options Cheyenne trim package Automatic Transmission Tilt steering wheel Cargo light Tachometer Air conditioning Bucket seats and console 4 wheel drive Power steering Power brakes with front disks AM/FM radio Door edge guards Engine 12,000 miles on 365 hosepower 454 big block built by Larson and King in Portland. Crank was turned 10/10, cylinders are .30 over. Crower cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 750 cfm 4 barrel carb w/electric choke. MSD Street-Fire HEI ignition. K&N air filter. Transmission 15,000 miles on rebuilt turbo 350. mild shift kit. Transfer case 6000 miles on rebuilt NP-205. Warn premium locking hubs. New front driveline Interior Within the last 6 years I have replaced door panels, armrests, and inserts, window and door cranks, carpet, tank cover, seats recovered and refoamed (Factory correct seats. Solid mount passenger, sliding driver), console refinished (factory correct console with seat belt holders), replaced glove box liner, replaced dash pad, replaced instrument bezel, replaced sunvisors, replaced A/C, vent, and heater ducts and chrome deflecters, replaced headliner and trim, replaced sill plates, Replaced radio speaker, Interior was repainted original color (meduim olive) with basecoat/clearcoat. Everything works and with the exception of the steering wheel (I went to a smaller Camaro steering wheel) everything is correct for this truck. (Yes, the AM/FM radio even has the correct Delco script on it!) Exterior The truck was repainted its original color (medium olive and white) using a basecoat/clearcoat. The truck had zero rust and still retains its original cab corners and rocker panels. At the time it was painted I replaced most all of the emblems and trim. It took an incredible amount of time and legwork but I was able to replace most of the trim with new old stock. The ralley wheels are 15 by 10 reproductions and the tires are 33" BF Goodrich All Terrain TA with 7,000 miles on them. Running Gear I bought the truck 9 years ago right after the truck was reassembled after having the body removed and the frame refinished. At the time the body was off, the frame was repainted with POR15. The stock gears were replaced with 3.73 front and rear. The brake lines, slaves, drums, rotors, and calipers were replaced. Before the truck was reassembled it also received a 4 inch lift, axle seals, E brake cables, all new cab and body mounts, U joints, and 2 1/2" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. General The odometer currently shows 84,629. The actual is 184,629. My goal during the restoration was to keep the truck as stock as possible. I have a mountain of receipts for this truck and to date have invested over $30K in it. Also keep in mind I bought it about a third done so the actual cost of the restoration is much higher. The truck is stored indoors and has not seen a rainy day or sub freezing temperatures in quite some time. Known Problems The cancelling cam for the turn signals is not working so you have to shut your turn signal off manually. The windshield washer has a plugged line. (pump runs, no water) Right valve cover gasket has a small leak. I stayed with the stock valve covers because of clearance issues with the A/C bracket but I seem to be replacing that gasket every couple of years. The paint job is nearly 4 years old and does have some scratches and rock chips Contact Info Email: rickharris1@comcast.net Phone (503)463-8321 I have a series of 35 photos loaded on my web storage.
