This is a red 2001 Dodge Ram Van 1500 with a Sherrod high-top conversion. The conversion includes four reclining captain's chairs (cloth) and a fold-down rear bench seat (for a total of 7 passengers), a TV with a DVD player and a VHS cassette tape player (all with remote controls), a six-speaker sound system, and three sets of window blinds. The van has the shorter 109" wheelbase for easy parking and turning and a gasoline-powered 5.2 liters V8 engine for power. It has cruise control, dual airbags, power steering, power mirrors, electronic door locks, an AM/FM radio and cassette player, a towing hitch, 7 overhead reading lights, and running boards. The van also has air vents in the rear for heating and cooling that are separately controlled from the dashboard, a 12-volt power outlet on the dashboard and another 12-volt power outlet in the rear, a tilt steering wheel, and a 2" ball towing hitch extension with a lock and key. The towing package includes a rectangular, 10-pin (2x5) female electrical connection. I have all the manuals that came with the van. The rear bench seat has three seat belts and manually folds down to make a bed that is 56" x 40". Ther wall-to-wall distance in the rear is 64". The captain's chairs do slide forward and backwards and they do recline. However, they do not swivel or move up and down. Nor are they heated. All of the controls for the seats are manual. The current odometer reading is 63,538 miles. I am still driving this van locally, however, so the final mileage will be a bit higher. The van weighs 5,440 lbs. I bought this van on eBay in June 2005 from CarMart USA out of Chicago when the mileage was 42,318. My main use of the vehicle has been two long trips from the east coast to to Utah/Idaho in 2005 and again in 2008. On one trip I carried 6 passengers and towed a travel-trailer without any problems. I'm selling now because I am moving overseas. The van was stored indoors and not moved between September 2005 and July 2007. During the time I have owned this vehicle, I have not had any mechanical problems whatsoever. The vehicle passed Utah state inspection in August 2005 and New York state inspection in August 2007 and again in February 2010. I bought a new battery in July 2007 and new tires in February 2009. I replaced the heater blower resister in June 2009. I replaced the front wheel bearings one month ago. I've changed the oil and filter every 5000 miles or so. This is what I know is wrong with the vehicle: one knob on the radio and the knob on the rear audio control are missing (although they can still be operated); there are some stains on the carpet and one of the shades; there is a stain on the rear bench seat; we've never been able to get the wireless headphones to work (we use plug-in headphones instead); one of the ventilation windows doesn't close tightly; there is rust on the towing hitch; there is some rust around the tire lug nuts; there is rust on the undercarriage; there are some scratches on the driver side rearview mirror; there are some minor scratches and blemishes on the body; some of the decals are peeling. Overall, however, for a vehicle that is 9 years old, this van is in very good shape. Finally, I should have also noted that this vehicle is being sold “as-is” with no guarantees or warranties, either express or implied. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge.
