Vehicle Detail
For sale is an all original 1987 Honda Super Magna 700cc. If you're looking at this auction you probably know all about this bike. If not, do some research online and you'll see how special of a bike this is. The bike has 26,186 original miles and is probably is the best condition it possibly could be for a 23 year old bike that has been ridden and un-restored. It is in immaculate condition considering those two facts. You'd have to look very hard to find another Super Magna in this kind of original condition. I'm not arrogant enough to say there aren't other comparable bikes aren't out there...they are just rare to find in this condition. The pictures really tell the story on this bike - and yes - it looks just as good in person as it does in the pictures. It is NOT a showroom or museum quality bike, but is in incredible original condition. This bike comes with the original tool kit and manual (see picture) and all original pieces that were on it when the bike was bought new. Feel free to call me at (518)725-6104 with any specific questions or to set up a time to see the bike. There are a few specks of very minor oxidation here and there and even fewer spots of light rust in some of the typical places (i.e. insides of foot pegs, kick stand, etc...). And the sissy bar dose not come with the bike. Again this is very minor. The bike is really in immaculate cosmetic condition considering the year model and the fact that it is all original. Again, it is not a museum piece and is not showroom...you'd have to go back to 1987 for that :) or spend thousands on a restoration. Starts instantly and runs great. If you've ever ridden a Magna, you know they are very smooth (V-4 motor). This one follows suit, runs and rides just like it should. It is a blast to ride and is one of those bike that puts a silly smile on your face. It's 700cc but has the power of an 1100cc or even some 1300cc bikes. A few positive points of note that make this bike different than the '94-'03 Magna's: As opposed to the newer Magna's this bike is a 6-speed (very nice on interstate to have that extra gear) and it is shaft-driven as opposed to chain drive on the newer models (which is preferable by most as opposed to a chain). Within the last few hundred miles it has a new battery. It is completely ready to go mechanically and shouldn't need anything else until the next oil change is due. You can jump on it and ride anywhere today. When the bike is first started after sitting for a day or more it will put off a little smoke right when it's started. It's not like a smoke stack and it goes away within a few seconds and doesn't smoke any after that initial start. This is fairly common with older Honda's I'm told. Feel free to call me to discuss. The bike runs awesome and smooth. The handle bars have a very slight bend to the left. Most riders wouldn't notice and it in no way affects the steering. I'm talking very minor...probably even knit picking. You can take you hands off the handlebars going down the road at 55mph and it tracks straight as an arrow. My guess is that it was probably strapped down to a trailer or truck bed a little too tight on that side at some point and it pulled that side a little too hard. It was like this when I bought it. Please don't bid if you aren't serious. If you are serious, please feel free to call me on my cell (518) 725-6104. The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction if it sells locally. If you're interested, feel free to call with an offer. I am requiring a $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of the auction by PayPal and request Full payment required within 3 days of auction close.
