1969 Lincoln Continental Playboy Mark III Please call 815-219-3801 with any questions. This automobile was originally purchased in Chicago at Litsinger Lincoln-Mercury Co. by Keith Hefner, brother of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. The car was put into service in June, 1968. I have the original Registered Owner's Manual showing the 1340 N. State Parkway (Mansion) Address. The car quickly became a favorite of the Playboy in-crowd. It was kept by Hefner in the Playboy mansion garage for many years before being driven to the Playboy estate in California where it was also was garaged and beautifully maintained. I also have State of CA paperwork showing the Charing Cross/Playboy address. I believe the car then was sold to Nancy & Len Reiffel in Chicago. Dr. Reiffel was the inventor of the TV Chalkboard used by John Madden. He was also a consultant to the US Department of Defense, Department of Energy and NASA as well as the Deputy Director of the Appolo Program from 1965-1969. Dr. Reiffel also worked on EPCOT for Disney-implementing their electronic entertainment system. Dr.Reiffel was the on-air Science Commentator for the CBS Network. The car comes with a three ring binder of documentation. The Lincoln Mark III changed hands a few times scene Dr. Reiffel's ownership. The cars body is in very good shape. The exterior of the car has only been painted once, with door jams and trunk interior is still wearing it's original factory paint. It has no major rust issues or dents. The frame and floors of the car are rock solid. The bumpers and trim are in excellent condition. The interior is all original and in good over all condition. It has it's original 460/365 hp 7.6L V8. The car has just been serviced: new tires, carburetor rebuild, plugs, wires, battery, tie-rod ends and gas tank re-lined. One power window is not working and A/C does not blow cold. The Lincoln runs and drives great. I would drive it anywhere. It is a clean driver quality car with an incredible history. That being said it is a 41 year old car and is being sold as is. I do not know if the miles are actual. The car comes with original documentation and signed state of Illinois title in the previous owners name.
