Vehicle Detail

This Hi Boy has beed an amazing truck, used for everything from recovery of my farm equipment from the field, getting that heavy load out of the muddy field, to rescuing my stranded neighbors during the snow. I never thought I would part with this truck however recent medical conditions have me at a disadvantage. I cannot stand to see the truck not out there working and made the decision to sell after having to get my son the charge the battery after me not driving it.(that is the reason the hood is up and the battery charger is in front) If you have never owned a Hi Boy this is your chance for one of the toughest, well built 4 wheel drives you will find. If you have owned a Hi Boy then you know what I am talking about and I think you will find the price fair. The truck is powered by a 390 V8 and is never short on power, with the four speed tranny you could pull down a house. It is currently sitting nice on 33 X 12.5 X 15 tires and I have been told I could go bigger, I never had the need. The body is pretty straight and no major rust issues just some surface where the paint is missing, I live outside of Dallas Texas so our vehicles do not have issues with rust. For those not familiar with Hi Boy A hiboy is the nickname given all ford , 3/4 ton , 4X4 trucks that had the transfer case mounted behind and attached to the tranny by a drive shaft , then you have separate drive shafts to both front and rear axles. They were made from about 63 up, the last year for the Ford F Series "Original Highboy", was mid 77,then the xfer case was mounted right behind the tranny. Hiboy is a reference to the drivetrain\axle\suspension and frame Hi boys are 2” higher than latter F250 4X4s from the factory. Several 4 wheel drive enthusiast site users had this to say about the Hi boy (and I couldn't agree more) I do agree, that for a stocker, they are the ultimate 4x4. A quick way to notice if you are looking at a high boy is the frame rails. They are completely straight all the way from the front bumper to the rear bumper. No left or right bends.. only up and down for the cab area. Oh, another way is if you stand within 15 feet of a High Boy, your hair will stand up on the back of your neck because the beasts emit an aura of threatening bad-a**'ness. Kind of like that moment in Jurrassic Park when the T-Rex was peering thru the window of the Explorer. This truck was driven and maintained by myself, I am in my late 40s and no I never even let my 32 year old son drive it so abuse is not an issue. So if you need a truck with a can do attitude and ability here it is, goodluck bidding.
