2008 SALEEN S302 EXTREME 620HP FACTORY DEMO!! Full Warranty through October 2010!!! Up for bid is a Saleen Factory Demo Car, which has 620 Horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, and is the only Saleen 302E produced in 2008 with 2009 upgrades (1 of 1). This car is the second car (Car #02) manufactured at Saleen, Inc. in Troy, Michigan as a 2008 model year, and was used by Saleen for promotional demonstrations. This car was upfitted with numerous 2009 options way before they were actually available to the public. 2009 FEATURES: Saleen front grille with chrome bright strip, billet shifter surround, alcantara + leather seating surfaces, and newly designed hood vent grilles. According to the Saleen Design Director, the seat pattern was designed with early Ferrari seating in mind, and is one of my favorite features. 2008 FEATURES: Satellite Navigation, Push Button Start, Rockford Fosgate Audio Upgrade and beautiful forged 20x9 front and 20x10 rear 5-spoke lightweight 1-piece chrome wheels. Please read the window sticker images for more exacting detail. MSRP: In 2008, the total sales price (with taxes & transport) totaled just over $90, 000.00. OVERVIEW: This Saleen has been driven 5,000 miles, and starts, runs and drives just like any new car should…….Until you stab the gas, that is. Thankfully this Saleen has a very effective traction control combined with massive 305/35-20 rubber in order to attempt to keep the car from completely roasting the rear tires or simply spinning out entirely. In reality, this Saleen has so much torque that in any lower gear (1st, 2nd, 3rd) loss of traction is inevitable at full throttle. The car has to be driven with progressive throttle modulation in order to make use of the supercharged capabilities of this amazing vehicle. Compare the following specifications to the world’s top supercar performers, and you will see that this Saleen is a bargain, even at the original price: PERFORMANCE: 0-60: In the 3.9 second range if tire spin controlled FUEL ECONONY: 21 MPG Highway ENGINE: The engine began as a Ford 4.6 Liter (modular), and was completely disassembled and stroked (not bored) to 302 cubic inches by Saleen, Inc. Pistons, rods & crankshaft are all forged. A Gen VI Saleen Twin-Screw Supercharger was port matched and combined with a dual-stage water to air intercooler. High pressure fuel injectors and Saleen electronic calibration finish off the job. In order to get all of the full-throttle exhaust out of the car as efficiently as possible, there are 2.5” pipes (with crossover) and dual stainless center outlets. A second set of hidden exhaust tips (only visible from underneath the rear carbon fiber diffuser) helps to get the forced exhaust out. Neat trick! TRANSMISSION: A 6-speed manual trans and high performance clutch move the power back to a 3.73:1 posi gearset, capped with a Saleen cover which doubles as a Watt’s link connection point. SUSPENSION: All Saleen Racecraft struts & coils provide a lowered ride height, and a Watt’s link and large diameter sway bars provide superb handling. EXTERIOR: The outside of this car has two excellent hand-laid carbon fiber pieces. One is a front splitter, and one is a very large rear diffuser. These pieces are time consuming, hand laid and expensive to produce. The bodysides have NO DOOR DINGS at all. The body kit and graphics are in great shape, but there are a few minor paint nicks on the front and rear, as this car has seen some freeway driving. See pictures. New Silver Saleen car cover included. BRAKING: The front brakes are incredible 15” slotted and vented discs with 6-piston calipers and ABS. The rear has 11.8” slotted and vented discs. INTERIOR: As mentioned above, the interior has Alcantara and leather seats, billet shifter surround, Saleen floormats and sillplates. This car is also loaded with all the Ford creature comforts such as power windows, power brakes, air conditioning, cruise, tilt and other neat features such as the Ford “My-color” gauges (Changeable backlit gauge colors). WARRANTY: The next 6 months and 6,000 miles are covered, as there is a full Saleen warranty which is valid through October 2010, and covers the first 12,000 miles bumper-to-bumper. TERMS: Bid with confidence, as I have an excellent reputation and no unhappy buyers. Potential bidders may inspect the car PRIOR to bidding. An inspection is an excellent way to eliminate disappointment. A winning bid will be considered a sale. The car is being purchased “As-is” and “Where is”, with a transferrable warranty being provided by Saleen and / or Ford Motor Company. Please allow for normal wear and tear based on the fact that this was a factory demo car which has traveled to numerous locations.
