1981 Honda

You are bidding on a 1981 Honda XL 500S. This bike has been in the family since 1991. I am selling this bike for my brother-in-law who lives in California now. The bike runs and has plenty of power; in fact the front wheel wants to come off the ground which is impressive for an old bike. The bike starts on the first or second kick. Unfortunately, the bike smokes and has a top-end knock. This bike could either be a parts bike or a restore job. As you can see the bike has a lot of wear and tear, normal for a 1981. Tank has dents but does not leak. The seat is probably the best part, not damaged in any way. Tires have cracks and should be replaced but they hold air. Headlight and taillight work. Brakes work. The baffle is loose and needs replacing but is not extremely loud. Suspension is not bad, front fork seals should be replaced. No odometer so I don't know mileage. The bike is located in Falcon Colorado. Buyer will receive a bill of sale as the title is no where to be found. Feel free to ask questions. Shipping available if buyer makes arrangements. Update: A mechanic viewed the bike two days ago and noted that the knocking sound is coming from the decompression valve, adjusting the valve may silence the noise.
