Vehicle Detail
This auction is for our 1965 International Scout 80 which we really hate to sell. It is a 4 cylinder, 3 speed manual transmission with a twin stick transfer case. We have 5 other vehcial and this great truck just doesn't get driven as much as it should. We have taken it on several day trips and camping trips on the weeked. Otherwise we drive it around tound and thats about it. We purchased it from a gentleman who received it as a gift from the original owner. We were told that it was used at a hunting cabin called "V-8 Club" hence the lettering on the side. It was stored in the barn and was very well maintained by the owner based on its current condition for its age and location. We found notes from the owner inside the glovebox along with a spare belt with original packaging from the 60s-early 70s. The positives - The interior is one of the cleanest I have seen around. Seats are in beauiful shape (one small nick on passenger side), along with IH fire extinguisher which says its charged, which I have not seen on other scouts. - Very low miles just over 26k which were were told are actual. - Runs like a top! We rebuilt the carburetor and I believe the float needs a little adjustment to be perfected - Horns, wipers, lights, signals, heater, blowers all work - 4 wheel drive works perfectly - Just installed a new CD player with 6x9s under the seat (have original face plate) - Fluids have been changed (except front differential) - Comes with a 1/2 top that is in really nice condition - Hood, front clip, doors, tailgate, front outer fenders appear very solid and free from rust - Has newer fuel pump also has oil filter adapter so you can purchase newer style filter from any parts store - Has oil bath air filter system Things that may need some attention: - carburetor needs a little adjusting. Purrs like a kitten but likes choke pulled out 1/16" of an inch - Antenna to CD player needs extension (3-4") to connect for FM/AM function - Tires are bias ply and will need replaced at some point. We do have spare radial tires in decent condition that could go with - There are a few areas of visible rust. Small holes in floor pan, truck bed, inner wheelwell (see pics) - Has a dent on front nose and passenger side door...should be EZ fix (see pics) - The paint isnt perfect has some scratches, nics, ect. - There is some bondo in the rear quarters. From the underside it appears that they may have been hit on a tree while out on the hunting trails. Some of the bondo is cracking (see pics) - Does leave a small quarter sized spot of oil when parked Summary - Would be a great foundation for a project or just drive as is. Very clean for its age and location! Every time we take it out people stop to check it out, and we get the thumbs up going down the road. We really hope it gets a new ower who enjoys it as much as we have. I suggest that the buyer comes to drive and view it. If that is not possible I will try to answer all questions as open and honestly as possible. I will take additional pictures if required. This truck is available for local pickup. However I will ship it. Shipping is soley the responsiblility of the buyer (arrange, schedule, pay for, ect) $500 deposit is required via paypal with in 24hrs of the auction end. Remaining balance is due in 5 days. On Jun-24-10 at 08:53:10 PDT, seller added the following information: One thing I forgot to mention...this truck has 2 saddlebag fuel tanks. The filler neck on one of thanks was leaking so we removed the tank. The orginal owner coated the tanks in grease to prevent rust which is great, they are solid. We could have reinstalled for they buyer but I would suggest having the interior of the tank cleaned prior to installation. We have a few parts for re-assembly of the tank if wanted. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. On Jun-24-10 at 16:57:31 PDT, seller added the following information: LOW RESERVE!On Jun-27-10 at 14:36:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Also wanted to mention that this is a 152 cubic inch 4 cylinder. With manual transfercase and lock outs. We were told mileage was actual but no way to be absolutely sure. I have a clear title that will be signed over to the buyer once the truck has been paid in full This is a 1965 truck so there is no warranty on this vehicle and is being sold in "AS IS" condition. Can email additional pictures if wanted. Thanks for looking! On Jun-28-10 at 10:20:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Looking through the contents in the glovebox left by the owner I found an week-at-a-glance from 1973.
