**PRICE LOWERED ON RESERVE & BUY IT NOW ** Up for sale is a very well maintained 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham. I would like you to know the history of this vehicle. I originally purchased the vehicle from an elderly lady from southern Illinois in May of 2004. It had been sitting for 4 years before her son in law drove the car to Rochester. I purchased the car with about 90,000 miles on it. We became the 3rd owners. It became a father and son project car. I drove it for the first year with the original 260 cu. 2 bbl. with a TH200 transmission. Just enjoying the car for what it is/was. In the fall of 2005 we found an Olds 350 and began the rebuild process. All engine work was done by Scharf Auto in Rochester, MN (I have the receipt of the work done). The engine was bored out .020, crank polished, heads and block magna fluxed, new cam bearings installed and the oil galleys were cleaned out. The heads were port matched and polished. The valves guides were reseated. We installed a High Energy Comp Cam: see specs http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/CamDetails.aspx?csid=1163&sb=2 Everything listed was installed NEW heavy duty springs, retainers, Comp Cam hydraulic lifters, Comp Cam push rods, double roller timing chain, oil pump (standard volume), Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake, rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet carb with the secondary metering rods tuned to the car (put in larger metering rods), HEI was rebuilt with all new internals, cap & rotor and new HE coil, alternator, starter, water pump and high volume fuel pump, U-joints, gas shocks up front and air shocks in the rear, radiator & hoses, custom dual exhaust with Flo-Pro mufflers (sounds great!) The TH200 was scrapped and in its place went a TH350 (rebuilt by Dales Truck & Transmission of Rochester, MN) with a shift improvement kit & a 3000-rpm stall converter. It works flawlessly! When it shifts you know it! In the fall of 2006 we also swapped out the puny rear end for one with a little more ummf! I found a replacement in Chicago. It came out of a 1979 Olds Cutlass 442. It has limited slip posi-traction with 2.73 gears. New rear brakes and turned drums were also included in the swap out. The interior is pretty much the way I bought it. VERY, VERY clean! Original carpet and seat covers. The headliner does need replacing though. We installed a Sony Explod stereo with Sony speakers in the rear deck and 3” HK in the dash. SunPro Tach and gauges. We replaced the stock steering wheel with one out of a 442. The options this car came with are tilt wheel, cruise control and air conditioning. All of them work. It has a split front bench seat. The exterior is very nice for a 30-year-old car. The paint is all original. It does have surface scratches, staining and some surface rust. NO deep rust or rust thru anywhere! It’s not perfect but it cleans up real nice. The trunk has the original liner, spare tire & car jack. The landau (vinyl top) has small weather cracking. But it too shines up very nicely. The only major/minor flaw is a crack in the fiberglass nose cone under the passenger side headlight. We installed Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires in July of 2006 and put them on 442 aluminum rims. I believe the car looks great for a “442 clone”. The car has been stored winters and not driven in the snow. The car now has just over 111,500 miles on the body with about 9,000 on the rebuild and tires. We also just installed new front calipers, pads, sway bar linkage on both sides and a fresh oil change. The cars value according to NADA books out at $13,500 for High, $8,969 for Average and $4,469 for Low. I have many more pictures. Just contact me. On Jun-14-10 at 17:46:48 PDT, seller added the following information: The car is also listed for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early, if the car sells locally before the reserve price is reached.
