Vehicle Detail
You are looking at an ALL ORIGINAL 1978 Ford F-250 Ranger Camper Special 4x4 Super Cab. It needs a complete restoration but is a RARE FIND. It is all original right down to most of It's paint. It has some rust in all the usual body places, the frame is rust free and the bed and tailgate, believe it or not, is mostly solid except for the rust pictured on the 2 wheel wells and 2 nickel size holes in the bed. It will need cab corners, door bottoms, front floors (has new metal floors, not pretty but work), some floor supports and work around the roof drip rails. I tried to take pictures of it all. The paint is mostly original Brown and Beige 2 tone and the body moldings are in great shape and only need polishing. The 351M 400 runs strong, 2bbl carb has been rebuilt since I have had it and the motor was rebuilt at one time by the previous owner. I am only the 3rd owner. The interior needs carpet, front seat recovered and new dash pad cover. The original dash bezels, door panels, steering wheel, rear seat, headliner and visors are in real good shape. The original am/fm radio is still there and works. It has power steering and brakes, auto trans, DANAs front and rear, 4x4 works great, trailer tow package, camper tie downs, bed side factory built-in tool box and the Camper Special Package and badges. I have not done much to this truck except for the carb. I have gone on 100 mile trips with no problem, have hauled very heavy loads of dirt and lumber without an issue. The brakes are a little spongy but It stops good, the rear brakes need to be bled and I have done the best I can without replacing the wheel cilinders or drilling out the broken off bleeders but like I said, It still stops well. The exhaust pipe came apart behind the muffler and needs to be re-welded. Mechanicly, that is all that is wrong with the truck. You could probably drive it home some distance. As of now the wheels pictured will not go with it and the original wheels with decent tries will be on it. The bed liner will also be removed, as I just put it in temporarily to protect the mostly un-dented bed from damage while using it for work. You can also have the original OEM Ford fiberglass Cap which is in decent shape. I have been driving this truck locally almost every day. I also have the truck for sale locally and might end the auction if it sells here. Email me with any questions. PAYMENT: $ 500.00 Paypal payment due within 2 days after auction ends.
