1986 Chevrolet C4 Corvette CLEAR TITLE L98 - V8 350 TPI (Tune Port Injection) 235HP. Removeable glass top. I bought this nice 24 year old Corvette in the US about two month ago with plans to gradualy restore it to collector's condition. However, I just purchased a boat that needs to be readied for this summer and I don't have the garage space for both toys. The Corvette must go... The engine and transmission are strong. Previous owner installed four new Corvette Collector's edition wheels with new Hankook V4ES 275/40ZR17 performance tires then stored the car for about 2 years. All exterior/interior lights work. Aftermarket Alpine CDA- 7840 stereo with Factory Bose Gold system speakers and quality aftermarket front speakers. This car is ready to drive, just turn the key and go. I have been driving almost daily for the past two months. It's very fast. Two engines were produced in 1986, this is the more powerful one with the aluminium heads. Brand new performance aluminized Dynomax Quad Tip mufflers. New battery, NGK spark plugs, Bosch wires, distributor/rotor and fuel filter. There are a few items given the age of this car that will sooner or later need to be done if you want it to be a showpiece. The interior is fair, driver's seat will need to be recovered. Carpets ok. One door panel need the top to be reglued. The paint is fairly good, the sun over time has blemished the top of the hood and rear bumper. Rubber around windows is old and dried, should be replaced. ABS light is occasionaly on (brakes always work fine). These are typical vintage Corvette things that you can easily do yourself if you have a garage and some basic tools. The nice thing is you can drive this Vette every day regardless of these items to do so there is immediate enjoyment of your purchase. I had a US Chevrolet dealership do an inspection on the car in early April, I have the papers. It states that this car is in good condition overall - with no serious issues. All pictures are very recent. A factory GM maintenance manual on CD will be included as well as a Haynes manual. It drove very well, had it up to over 100mph with no effort. I received several compliments on the car and how it sweet sounds with these new Dynomax Quad Tips. It has a very low frequency rumble. At WOT it sounds absolutely mean. The onboard computer told me on average that the gas consumption was 19.9mpg. Drives straight as an arrow with these wheels/tires combo. I went hrough heavy rain, handles like on dry pavement....and the wipers work well, no ignition issues as it has a new set of wires and new distributor. A few observations for bidders: - The air-conditioning doesnt seem to work. - When you select from English to Metric oin the dashboard, sometimes the climate control temperature disply goes into a blink mode. The fans still work - when switched back to English, blinking stops.
