I am selling my '66 T'bird Convertible, as despite much wishful thinking, it will be a very long time before I'll have the time or the finances to bring it back to it's full glory I bought the car a couple of years ago, a work in progress restoration, at which point the underside had been pretty much finished, and also the engine etc. The interior is in good condition, there is a cigarette burn on the drivers site and the chrome trim, needs some tlc. The body of the car has had replacement panels, (drives door, fenders, hood and front cowel) these however, although solid are not very straight, so I obtained the following from another car which are all good and straight, ready for striping and fitting. Hood, both doors, truck lid, upper deck lid, both fenders, front valance, rear valance, front cowel The worst part of the car are the rear quarters, these have been attemped to be repaired at some point, but I would have had them cut out and replaced. All in all its a good soild platform for completing the restoration. There are many parts that will go with the car, a complete ac system, spare rear and front bumpers, front grill. The car fires right up at the turn of the key and shifts no problem, although currently it has no brakes as the drivers rear seized, and I removed the brake linings to be able to move the car a while back and have not had the time to revisit this. The power steering pump needs to be resealed and the front windows need to be looked at as no longer work. The roof is the original and has tears and is not complete and therefore will need replacing The radio works as do the rear power windows, it has all the usual 66 features, reclining front passenger seat, warning lights, aircraft style dials, slide away steering column (there is a spare one of those too) the exhaust system was new when I bought the car All the above sounds negative, but I want to be honest about what is up for auction, this is a good solid car and will not take much to bring back to at least driver quality and a cheap way to get into an American Classic and last of the Big Birds With some time to spare, then this has pretty everything you need to finish it up and even add ac!!
