Vehicle Detail
1993 Honda Accord EX Coupe 5 Speed: 2.2 liter engine, 5 speed manual transmission, 2 door, AC, power windows, power locks, power sun roof, sun roof wind deflector, cruise control, has trunk wing with the LED lights, black exterior color, beige interior color, Honda driving lights, folding rear seat, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 speaker stereo, rear window defroster with timer, has all Honda options except burglar alarm and CD changer. I would never sell this car, but I have too many, and I have an opportunity to get a Honda Odyssey van at a great price which suites my needs much better after marriage. I have owned this car since it had 258 miles on it, I can include the dealer window sticker if you like. The car was originally at Honda World in Peoria IL. I bought it through Huey's Carlson Honda in St. Louis, MO. Almost all of the 292,753 miles are highway miles, and it gets 30 MPG highway. I've driven it 485 miles on 1 tank of gas before. This has been a wonderful car for the last 17 years. If you have questions ask, and I will try to respond promptly. The Good: I personally changed the oil and oil filter in this car 85 times (which is about 3,400 miles between changes)(I installed a Fumoto valve (see photo) for easy oil changing), I used Castrol 5W-30 in Fall Winter and Spring and Castrol 10W-30 in the summer, the engine burns no oil, I've changed the gear box oil (uses motor oil just like the engine) twice, I installed a very nice Sony CDX-M770 CD player (I used the auxiliary input for my iPod, but the iPod nano which you may be able to see in the photo is not included)[I still have the original Honda tape player and Honda add on CD player that were made by Alpine], I installed a Prestone flush and fill tee for easy coolant flushes with a water hose, the tires only have 5,400 miles on them, I've had the brake fluid changed, comes with Honda shop manuals (I paid $80 for these) and a Haynes manual (see photo). The Bad: The passenger side outer CV joint boot has failed (I noticed it with in within 3 miles because I could see the grease splatter on the left front wheel), I am including a set of rebuilt front axles by Raxles (you should be able to receive the deposit when you return the old axles (see photo)), the rotors are warped again so there is steering wheel vibration when braking hard (I am including a new set of cross drilled and slotted rotors by Brake Planet (see photo)) [the rotors are pressed on the hub, so please follow the provided procedure for installing them from the inside out. If you hammer the old rotors off from the outside, you will damage the wheel bearings and need to replace them too], it is time to have the timing belt, balance shaft belts, fan belts, water pump, and valves adjusted again ($500 performed by Thompson's Honda in Terre Haute IN), the front wind shield has a 18" crack in it (I could not get it to show up in a picture), I had the resonator in the exhaust replaced with straight pipe when it failed (I already had the muffler replaced) so it sounds a little loud at certain engine speeds, the antenna is broken but a Honda replacement is included (see photo) but not installed (It pops up and down when the trunk is opened with the radio on to keep the wing from hitting it).On Jun-08-10 at 12:16:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Additions: I forgot several things and some new ones popped up. I had seat covers fabricated and installed by Myers Upholstery of Robinson IL. They are sewn on, but could be removed if necessary. The original seat fabric underneath is fine. The plastic housing around the door handles have small cracks on the bottom. I am including a replacement for the passenger side, but I don't have one for the driver's side. The check engine, ABS, and Brake Light Out indicators come on and off every now and then. I know that the brake lights are okay, but I'm not sure about the check engine and ABS lights. The driver's door dome light and key buzzer switch is not working. The storage compartment lids in both back seat arm rests pop up because the hinges wiggle loose. They can be pushed back in, but they will eventually pop up again. On Jun-11-10 at 08:10:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Additions 2: I found a small water leak in the trunk. I sealed it up with some silicone rubber cement, but this should be watched. The deposit from Raxles is $160.00, but only I can receive it. We will need to discuss how to work around this.
