Vehicle Detail

Great Find! Engine runs Great! Desirable bucket seats, with center console shifter and powerful V8 engine. I purchased this vehicle to restore with my son, but we've decided to go with a vehicle that can tow our boat. Has had previous restoration but needs redone to be a show piece, or minor repairs to be a fun daily driver. I'm told original miles, engine runs great, and previous owner installed new Webber two barrel carburator, fuel tank, interior carpet and upholstery. Convertible top needs repaired or replaced, but the electric raise/lower mechanism works well. Definitely needs brake master cylinder and shocks, but this is a Ford classic with easy to find and inexpensive parts and trim pieces. Comes with box of small parts and manuals...(shown in picture) I am not tremendously knowledgeable about this vehicle and am not a mechanic, but it's a cool classic muscle car with a clear title in very good restorable condition being offered at no reserve. Happy bidding! (Specs below found online) 1968 Ford Galaxie In 1968, the Galaxie was redesigned and reshaped to give the Full Size Ford a whole new personality. This new Galaxie is best identified by the hideaway concealed dual headlamps used on the LTD, XL and Country Squire models. The Ford Custom 500 was the base model offered in both two and four door sedans. The Galaxie 500 was a step up from the standard model, and was offered in hardtop, fastback, and convertible. The Ford XL did not carry the Galaxie name, and was offered in fastback and convertible models only. The LTD model was offered in two and four door hardtops and sedans. The 1968 Fords had six different engine choices ranging from a 240 Big Six cylinder economy motor on up to the 427 Cobra at 390 horsepower, and the 428 Thunderbird motor at 340 horsepower. Because of the size of these cars, many buyers opted for the 390 V-8 engine with plenty of power without the extra expense of the 427/428 models. Each model was available with a three speed manual transmission, a floor shift four speed transmission for high performance engines, and three speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic. In addition, Ford offered 15 paint colors, and over 30 upholstery choices. Among the many available options, were whitewall tires, styled steel wheel covers, air conditioning, remote control mirrors, power front disc brakes, tachometer, and limited slip differential. On Jun-06-10 at 14:30:58 PDT, seller added the following information:In response to some questions I have recieved, the car does not have AC except when the top is down :) It has duel exhaust, looks to be newer and sounds good. Has the upgraded glass rear window Thanks!
