85 VW WESTFALIA FULL CAMPER, 40K on rebuilt engine (Canadian Long Block Engine I was informed,runs great!), 4speed, AC, Cruise control, I have owned this Westy for 9 years and she has been my trusty traveler, been all over the west, very dependable! This van is not perfect body wise, but looks good overall and runs like a swiss watch. I have maintained everything on this van for I depended on it in my travels. If you ever owned one of these can or seen them out on camping trips, this is the ultimate vehicle for all weather camping. Brand new tires, less than 300 miles, brakes, cv shafts,rear axle bearings, u name it just about has been gone though on this van. interior features, 2 burner stove, 3 way fridge, sink, water tank with dc pump, mega storage, There are afew minor things that this van needs: New antennae for kenwood cd player/radio, needs new propane regulator (app $35 for part) installed to run fridge and stove, Fridge works great on AC power, when last run fridge on LP with old regulator it didn't cool all the way below 40 degrees. It may just have been due to regulator needing replaced. and DC operation of fridge I couldn't confirm ever operated when I've traveled in long trips..People usually run LP when traveling for it is the best at cooling although it is not legal to do so I'm told. I do not have time to work on her at the moment or would fix the minor repairs myself. Van sleeps 4 , two dining tables and front seats rotate. The interior is not perfect either, decent, but not perfect. It has some stains on front seats (minor) under seat covers, Poptop tent is in fair condition. there are terrors in screen, and a few holes in tent, but functional. Being this a northwest van, it has some moisture mold stains on poptop roof on inside of van from being stored outside most of its life. I bought this van from a great used car lot 9 years ago and they didn't realize what they had I guess. The van was something my local population for the most part wouldn't be interested in at the time in 2001. The van had some dingy stains in it due to a former owner (mechanic) I assume..but i cleaned her up pretty good....shampooed it real good when i first aquired it. I snapped it up when i first noticed this van for sale locally. It was a trade in from another lot is what I assumed from the lot I bought it from and car dealers trade amongst each other so im told on occasion. I installed a Audiovox Cruise Control system that is 100% functional and reliable with Vacuum booster. It took a week of 2 hour days to do that job, I rebuilt the AC system in 2001, in needs recharged currently. I prefer not dealing with flakey people on Craigslist so that is why I am selling it here. I have sold other Vans, motorcycles and more that were my personal vehicles for me and my family since 2000 here on ebay. I want this van to go to a good home, If it bids for the right price, I'll let her go,otherwise I'll keep her....She is my child in a sense....lots of memories and pictures of my travels over the years. I have a new hobby (ATV's) in recent years, and I'm looking at buying a toy hauler and no longer need the VW Westy. I can post more pics later if I see bids on this van. There are many lil nics scratches, small dents that are hard too see in photos. Any questions, please email, but please don't waste your time or mine.....tire kickers or pro vw backyard mechanics that wanna tell me how much they know about these vans is great, but I really don't have time to kick tires with u unless your going to plan on bidding on the van. If I see bids starting at the minium reserve amount, I may make time to have the AC charged and propane regulator replaced or provide new regualtor to be installed...gowesty.com has these propane regulators for sale. The AC worked great the last time I used it. It is not blowing cold air currently so that is why I was going to have the ac charged....I cannot gurantee it will be 100% fixed though as with any Used car, no one warranties anything unless you pay for a warranty. Odometer update....it was repaced due to a broken odometer at just under 100K miles with a odometer with 131K in 2001. So there is substaintal less miles in this van and the tranny works flawlessly. This Westfalia has a perfect rear screen, and popup vent screen. The middle seat pops out and this Westfalia has the textured fiberglass floor in the middle from the facory...very cool!.. If the body was perfect on this van which could be done still, this van would bring a premium for sure. Locally, there is a van of this year for $11,995. These Westfalia Vans are going nothing but up in price.....check gowesty.com for details on what they sell for. New in 1985 , this van sold for around 16K.....big money back in the day.
